Pikolinos takes pride in offering a carefully selected line of women's sandals, flats, slides and sling-backs, all thoughtfully designed and manufactured to high quality standards. Men can choose sport-inspired sandals and loafers constructed of premium materials to ensure lasting enjoyment.
Pikolinos has presented the 2011 Maasai Collection, a line of shoes and accessories that have been designed and made by women from the Maasai tribe in Kenya. This is a unique project in which the Maasai women embroider the leather shoes and bags with their own traditional designs. Furthermore, the type of work that they are doing actually lets them preserve their culture and lifestyle (the Massai tribe is in danger of extinction according to the United Nations). It has already helped to improve the quality of life of the whole community; they get paid fair wages, it contributes to the community and a school has been built for more than 400 children right in the heart of the African savanna.
All the profits made from selling these shoes go towards development projects in the Maasai Mara.

Wonderful shoe. Very very comfortable, practical, great leather, nice heel size, although the heel isn't high enough to make them stylish, and it isn't low enough to make it an all-day around-town walker. For normal daily use I think they'd be great. I loved them but am returning them with tears, because the price is just too high. Still, if I weren't leaving for Spain and Italy in a few days I'd probably justify keeping them.

These have become my go-to shoes for the summer. I swear by every single pair of Pikolinos I own (4), but these are by far my favorites. Ladies, I'm a 51-year-old post-menopausal woman who doesn't mess around when it comes to comfort, practicality, sex appeal and longevity in footwear, and now I can afford to buy what works. I also have the predictable amount of potential foot pain based on corns, bunions, and general age-based wear and tear. Literally this is the FIRST shoe maker I've found which has delivered the magic bullet--beatifully executed style, maximum flattery to feet and calves, AND, wait for it, these shoes feel like I have SLIPPERS on. I even have a pair of 3" Pikolinos and I can wear them like I'm in a pair of sneakers. I am not one to ever comment on shopping pages but I had to stop and do this, like now. Pikolinos are the best-kept secret EVER. Dudes! If every pair of shoes in my closet could be a pair of Pikolinos...I'd be in heaven!!!! I'm only sad to think that the Maasai style will go away after this year...because I was contemplating buying backup pairs so that I could have them forever...waaaa. Especially Moraira...I feel so incredibly pretty in these shoes...and I could run a marathon in them, I swear. PS: Literally every time I wear a pair of my Pikolinos someone comments on their beauty. And it's always one of my favorite women. They are truly arresting.
I'd also recommend: None. Pikolinos are unparalleled. Even Danskos don't come close in comfort!
