I'm normally a size 8 1/2 in Clarks and a 39 in most European sized shoes. I'm always a 39 in Pikolinos and these fit perfectly. Comfortable heel height. Good toe room. These are lined in thick faux fur from the insole up to the top of the leg. No socks needed. They're also waterproof and have a gusset under the zipper to prevent water and snow from getting in. The Olmo color is rich looking. They're just too warm for Florida. Sigh.

I just received these boots along with two other similar (and at least as expensive) styles to try them all on and see what I like. These boots win, hands down. I normally wear a 5½ and these feel a little tight but not too tight to go up a size as they feel like they will break in nicely. Being in Michigan, the fur lining, all the way down to the toe and sole, helps to make them super comfortable. Another reason they win is that that have just the right amount of femininity for the casual style I was going for.

This is my second pair of Pikolinos boots and they do not disappoint. I have been fortunate in that both pairs of boots were on sale when I purchased them, but knowing the comfort and quality I can expect, I will likely pay full price for any future Pikolinos purchases if I need to. I have what are considered large calves, but when I have purchased wide calf boots from other brands, the boots were bunched and cheap looking. These boots, at 15-16 inch circumference, are snug to begin with, but eventually loosen up to a comfortable fit. The heel is on the high end of medium, but is very sturdy and flattering. In addition, both pairs of Pikolinos I own took less than a day to break in, and can be comfortably worn for 8-12 hours. One thing to note, this particular boot has a shearling or fleece lining (I don't exactly know which), which is great for a Chicago Fall/Winter, but might prove too warm for less harsh climates.

Good looking boot but there is a weather proofing piece inside the zipper near the bottom that rubs against the ankle and is uncomfortable. Had to return. I have several Pikolinos though that I love.
