Super-nice and super-comfortable! Good quality, thick padding- best yet I found on the market.

This was my first real cycling clothing purchase, which I've avoided for ages. But it was worth the wait: as far as cycling clothes go, these knickers are really cute. In fact, they're kind of fab just as regular clothing. The material is more matte rather than shiny, and it's thin but has UPF 50 protection, which I'm big on. I like that they don't have the usual silicone beading around the bottom seams, as this style is very pretty on and they don't ride up at all. I wasn't too sure about the chamois, though that's more of a general outlook on the chamois concept than anything specific to these knickers! It's the same one that Pearl Izumi uses in (I think) all of the Select level shorts/pants, so there's no sacrificing of performance relative to regular, less stylish cycling shorts. I bought these with long rides in mind, i.e. 50 miles and over, and while I haven't taken them out for a long day yet, I'm happy with them: They breath well, they're comfortable in the saddle, and they are actually something I want to wear!

I use these for 30 to 90 minute spin classes only -- so take my review with a grain of salt. I tried a medium and a large 5'8", 140 lbs. Usually wear a 6-8 in pants. Went with the medium, even though it was a bit tight -- the padding in the large wiggled around too much. These look great on, dry super fast, don't ride up. Did a class today without them and almost died...coming back to order a 2nd pair!
