This Patagonia pack has a place for everything. It's perfect for carrying a textbook, binder, & planner during the week or camping supplies for the weekend. A definite thumbs up from me. Great pack at an unbeatable price.

Love it, just like my earlier larger P-pack. One complaint is the strange outer pocket, holds a newspaper but seems like a waste -- I'd rather something that was stretchy and had closure (what happens in the rain?). Small problem is just that the color is a little bold for casual professional use. But the design, weight and construction are terrific.

The straps on this backpack are very supportive. They actually make what I'm carrying feel lighter. The only thing is I just wish that the backpack was a little larger.

Bought this as a gift for my husband. A friend recommended Patagonia products as long lasting and very high quality. It is perfect for a day hike, has lots of pockets to put things like a water bottle, sun screen, and room for a light jacket if the air should turn chilly. The fabric feels strong, but the bag itself feels light.

This is a great backpack. I got it in black and use it to commute and transport my laptop and small purse. I like the big open pocket on the back -- easy to grab my cell phone or keys from there. And I like that I can reach into the two small side exterior pockets while wearing the pack. This suits my purposes wonderfully. At first, I was worried that shoulder straps were spaced too closely together. But after using it for a month or so, that hasn't been a problem at all. It isn't a huge backpack, but I like that it's not bulky. Truly a day pack.

About Patagonia
Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

This backpack rocks. It has tons of storage and places to put stuff, and is really comfortable. It has given me zero problems, and is really high quality. I will most likely be using it all four years of college. Definitely good value, quality, and cute too.

This is a nice backpack, seems well-made, well-designed, with efficient use of space. Unfortunately it's too small for my purposes (travel and day hikes in cold climates), and the water-bottle pockets on the sides aren't secure enough for my tall bottles. Thanks to Zappos I was able to order a slightly bigger pack (the "Mate") and return this one.

This was a nice backpack overall. The color was just right and it was comfortable to wear. My only problem with it is that even though it was made to fit a 17" laptop, when I put in my laptop it was just a little tight and it was slightly difficult to zip it. Other than that, I was very satisfied with this backpack.

I am not sure if the other buyers compared this bag to other laptop bags. I ordered five from Zappos and two from Amazon. This is a great style and had good pockets and storage areas, but the most important thing, is that it was not comfortable. The part where the two backpack straps connect to the top of the bag is too narrow, so when wearing it, it cuts into your neck and upper back area. It does not lie flat! If they made it wider I would take the bag. Good price point.

A high-quality pack, just like most Patagonia products. It has nice, thick cushioning on the straps, laptop pocket, and in a few other places. Comfortable, though the straps are slightly narrow. My last Patagonia pack had a laptop compartment that had openings on the bottom corners and let my laptop get scratched in the pack; this one has full stitched protection all around the compartment, a big improvement. The open front pocket is the most useful feature I've ever seen on a pack. Laptop compartment is lined in the same nylon as the rest of the pack, so it's not the softest surface, but the padding is thick. Very high quality pack; though on the small side. Comfortably fits a 13" MacBook, a few notebooks, and computer accessories. Water bottle pockets are the only negative...nice and flexible, but much too shallow; larger bottles like the Nalgene or Klean Kanteen 1-liters tend to fall out if the bag isn't upright (like when tossed in the back of my car). Deeper pockets next time!

I've only had it for a short time, and only time will tell if it will stand up over time. For now, though, I love it. It's compact, but roomy enough to store my 13-inch MacBook Pro with a few other books and peripherals. It's very water-resistant, and I love the deep pocket in the front of the bag. If you aren't into messenger bags and want a backpack for your computer, then I say "buy!"

My daughter loves this pack! It is the perfect size for college to carry her 15" laptop and still have room for a book or two. Well made and sturdy.

Let me preface this review with some background info. I'm a medical student who needed a day pack to carry around my 15" laptop, a textbook or two, a water bottle, and a binder. I knew I didn't want a bulky bag. I decided on this Patagonia Yerba pack and I'm not disappointed. It comfortably fits everything I need it for. It makes what I carry actually feel lighter. Zappos was great, I received my book bag the next day even though I opted for regular shipping. Five stars all around.(If you're looking for a pack to carry much more than what I described I use it for I would opt for something a bit larger.)

Awesome backpack! I could tell that it was really well-made and durable. I did end up sending it back to get the Fuego, because it was smaller than I realized. I only had one little complaint about the placement of the organizer being where it was, because when I would open my backpack, the organizer part was heavy because of the things in it, and wanted to flop down, almost dumping the things out of the pockets. The Fuego doesn't have that problem, since it has a separate inside pocket for the organizer.

Patagonia products are great so when shopping for a backpack I was only looking at Patagonia. I chose this one because it's smaller and thought it would be handier for work. However, I ended up returning it and got the Refugio 28L instead. I did not like the large outside pocket that has no way of closing. It's deep, but I was afraid anything I put in there would fall out and/or get wet in the rain. The pencil (and other) organizing pockets are on the inside of main flap and while I thought this would be okay originally, it means that every time you open the pack, anything you have in those pockets will be in the way of getting your stuff out. The Refugios organizing pockets are in a completely separate compartment. The Refugio also has an across the chest strap which makes it more comfortable when carrying heavier loads. The size difference in the two packs (22 vs 28L) is not that noticeable, but the Yerba does have cleaner lines. Zappos service made is terrific to purchase both packs, see which one I preferred, and then send the other back.
