I did a lot of research before purchasing this jacket. I was looking for a down jacket to wear skiing, and this one worked out very well. I'm always cold, and I was hoping to find a ski jacket that would allow me to wear a capeline baselayer and a sweater and still allow me to have a good range of motion and not be too bulky. I wore this jacket skiing in Maine when the temperature at the lodge was 5 degrees and the winds were quite blustery. I stayed warm and cozy in this coat. The only downsides: There was a slight draft from the zipper when I was skiing down the mountain and the hood, which was great to have, was not big enough to go over my helmet and still zip up on my chin all the way. I wore it over the helmet and zipped up as far as it could go. I'm 5'5 and 125 lbs and I purchased a small. I have both small and medium Patagonia jackets, but this small works. It's slightly shaped to look more flattering and it's not bulky. The sleeves are quite long, even though I have long arms. There is velcro at each wrist that allows you to adjust the length of the sleeves, so that worked out fine. A fantastic jacket that I can recommend highly. Zappos shipping was predictably fast and easy.

I haven't had a chance to wear it outside yet as it is not cold enough, but the jacket fits well. I am 5'7", about 160 lbs and the large fits well, with enough room to fit a light sweater underneath.

About Patagonia
Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.
