I had very high expectations for this backpack when I ordered it! However, I think I'm going to return it. The green was more lime green than the softer, minty green that I had expected from viewing the pictures. It has nice features fit for a school backpack like extra pockets and water bottle holders, etc. The padding in the straps is nice, as is the lack of an excess of bungee cords and straps and buckles. My one complain to the design of the backpack is that the main compartment doesn't open up very well. You can see from the pictures provided by Zappos that the zipper extends barely halfway down the length of the bag itself. I'll also note that I ordered it on Sunday and received it Wednesday afternoon with free shipping, nice.

It's definitely a nice-looking and sturdily-designed pack. One major flaw, for me, though, was the lack of a sternum strap. The deepness of the single compartment also made it a bit difficult to put my 15-inch laptop in the computer sleeve (and also take it out). Might be better for a 13-inch. I ended up returning the Violeta and switching to an Aysen.

Great size for day pack. Comfortable for women, very convenient and easy to use. Patagonia makes the best backpacks from my experience. 2nd one purchased in less than 6 months!
Brands I'd also recommend: arcteryx, frye

This bag is so cute! I love the color. I use this as a diaper bag. I have always been a bagophile. I adore bags, and purses. I have gone through many cute purse style, and messenger style diaper bags. They are attractive, but when your back is killing you from the weight of the bag plus the babe you tend to wish you could toss the bag on your back. I got this. I keep mommy items in the front pocket. I love that there are 2 water bottle pockets. I use LeSportsac bags to organize the interior. I do agree with a review that I read about the opening not being big enough though. Even if it went just an inch or so further down the length of then bag it would be so much nicer. However, I love everything else about the bag so much that I am not going to knock off any stars. The color is great too!

About Patagonia
Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

This is a solid backpack. It is a good size for my needs. Basically day hikes or fun excursions to kids activities. I can pack snacks, a few jackets or blanket and two outer pockets for drinks. There is no additional structure (e.g. Metal) in this pack which is what I wanted. The colors are as pictured- calming sea-type aqua and sea-foam green.
