The shoes look brown in the picture, but knowing the Patagonia color scheme, I knew that they are in fact gray (Narwhal Gray). The shoes are very comfortable and well built, as far as I can tell after only wearing them for one day. The soles were really squeaky right out of the box (which scared me), but that was resolved after wearing them outside once -- speaking of the soles, they have extremely good grip. I usually wear a 10.5 or 11 and am glad I got the 10.5 in this shoe. The eleven would have been too big. The arch support isn't great, but I have fairly high arches. Overall, they are very stylish, can be worn with shorts, and will be worn for years to come. My only complaint is the price! Try to find them on sale!

These shoes will put a smile on your face. They are very comfortable with generous cushioning and a full toe box. They are minimally built up which allows the wearer to 'feel' the ground below his feet. Stylistically they are close to old fashioned oxfords yet irreverent without looking foolish in the style of prewashed jeans.

This might be the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. The sole wraps up slightly on all sides giving superb traction. Break-in time was minimal and the fit is excellent. Unreserved recommendation.

These are great shoes! Very lightweight, breathe well, and are quite comfortable. A little wider than I anticipated but one i broke them in they fit like a glove. The sole takes a few days to get used to, it's definitely different than what i was used to before. Overall worth the buy, they've been holding up great for about a month now and I've been hiking, working and walking around in them everyday.

These are attractive, comfortable, but incredibly squeaky. The sole is very grippy leading to a sound comparable to wearing wet rubber boots on a gym floor. You definitely could not sneak up on anyone!

About Patagonia
Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

These are a great "everyday" shoe. They are very wide but I think it helps make them comfortable out of the box. Look good with jeans or slacks, t-shirt, or button down. They squeak a little on hard surfaces but after a few minutes of wearing them the squeak went away. True to size and true look to the picture given on Zappos!

I got a pair of these last year and have worn them continuously. I have worn down the sole but have not worn through the sole. This shoe was comfortable from the first moment I put them on, and almost a year latter they still are. The sole seems quite thin but is very tough yet very pliable and the insole makes them very comfortable. One thing I really like about these shoes is that you can feel the ground through them. Not in an uncomfortable way but in a reassuring way. You do not feel the edges of rocks on a trail but you can tell they are there. They are roomy enough in the toe to allow you to move your toes pretty freely, they do not feel constrictive. The canvas allows them to breathe very well. One other thing that I like is the leather heel cup. You cannot see this when wearing them but on other shoes that use fabric over foam this area tears easily which can make even shoes that you like uncomfortable. That is not the case with these. Your foot slides comfortably into the shoe and out of the shoe without causing undue wear in this area. I will be buying a new pair in the next week or so, and I hope they never stop producing this style as long as they make them, I will buy them.

Great shoe. However, the leather lining doesn't let the shoe breath, even though the upper is canvas, which is why I purchased this shoe with the Loulu. The Loulu has a wool insole which i feel is better. Large roomy toe and comfortable to wear around the office.
