I'm returning this item; the handle extension broke on my first trip! On the way home it stopped extending all the way and then by the time I got home it wasn't extending at all. I bought Patagonia because they typically create quality products, not this one!

This was perfect for my long weekend in London. I was able to pack three outfits easily...a second pair of shoes would have been tricky. Absolutely loved that I could easily store it overhead and even under the seat in front of me on a regional plane. I've only used it once, so can't attest to durability but seems to be very well-made and has lots of pockets. So far I'm thrilled with the purchase.

I am an avid traveler who received this bag as a gift. On only the fourth use, the handle snapped off midway through a multi-connection transatlantic flight. I received a replacement from Patagonia per their 100% guarantee. The second bag I received broke, in the same way, after only one use. After eight weeks and multiple contacts, Patagonia has still not sent their promised replacement parts. I am not particularly hard on my bags, and would expect anything this price to hold up through at least its first year of use. If you are looking for a reliable bag that can stand up to regular travel, look elsewhere.

This is a very useful bag that fits even in small overhead compartments or under airplane seats. I have packed 4 days worth of clothing in it (rolled) and a pair of shoes. With another large-ish carry-on you could probably pull off a week. I do see what some other reviewers have complained about -- the handle is sturdy plastic but it is still plastic. If the bag tips on a hard floor it could snap. So I've just been careful about it. The Seaweed is a great color, by the way.

About Patagonia
Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.
