I have the classic Ppatagonia down sweater and was so excited they made a hoody, I bought the bitter chocolate color. I absolutely love it! It is super warm for how lightweight it is, I do not leave home without it stuffed into my purse or backpack. Stuffs down small.

I purchased this jacket for a trip to Disneyworld in FL. the first week of January 2010. I thought it would pack small and not take up too much room in my suitcase, so I would have it handy when I returned home to the cold mountain air. Well, the first week of January in Florida was a cold wet week in the 30s and 40s. I was glad to have a down jacket! But, be warned, this jacket did not keep me warm in the humid cold air of Florida. I was miserable! But... when I returned to Colorado, it kept me very comfortable in temps in the teens. I have been wearing it all month and loving it. So I guess I would recommend it for dry climates, but not for humid ones. It is VERY comfortable and light. True to size. I LOVE the hood. You can zip it up just around your neck and it is cozy and warm. No need for a neck gator or scarf. And the tightening cord at the back of the head lets you pull the edges of the hood back and away from your face so your vision isn’t obstructed. Very clever. Great jacket for the Rocky Mountain variety of climates.

LOVE this jacket. Light weight and super warm so I can go from 70 degree winters in Orange County to 30 degree Sun Valley without packing a double suitcase. With baggage fees these days, that’s a huge deal.

I know these are all the rage but I was unhappy with the fit. The sleeves were too long and the fit was not attractive. Cozy but I am returning it.

This jacket is amazing. I find the fit to be very flattering, very warm when you need it to be and lightweight when you need it to be. I bought this coat because the other Patagonia Down Jacket I had was too warm. Patagonia makes such quality stuff and is a very socially and environmentally friendly company, it's worth the extra bucks.

About Patagonia
Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

Patagonia hooded down sweater is the best! I live where the temperature changes are quite extreme, going from -26 below in the mornings to 35 degrees in the afternoon. The hooded down jacket works the best for the temperature changes. And I love the color!

Have tried on and compared at close range many brands of Down Sweater in several seasons. Patagonia Down Sweaters are the best. Best fit. Best construction by a long shot (baffle pattern, stitching, sleeve banding, zipper, no down coming out at the seams). If you examine a Patagonia Down Sweater with any competitor's sweater in good daylight at close range, the other one will look startlingly cheap and coarse looking (and I do mean very well-known and respected brands that make some excellent products). Will probably get a non-hooded version in another color next season. Warm, attractive and literally light as a feather.

The full Zip Hoodie is the way to go! The jacket is very warm and packs very easily. The only issue is that strong winds do get through. So, you have to layer very well if you are wearing it under 32 degrees.
Brands I'd also recommend: The North Face

Love this sweater. Great by itself on a warmer day or under a shell when it's bitter cold. Lightweight. Blue color is great. Get lots of compliments. Flattering fit too. True to size.

I can see why people love this jacket. It looks and feels very nice on. However, for myself, at 5'11", it was cut too short at the hip, although the arm length was good. Another downside if you are cold-natured is that although the jacket is very warm at mild temperatures, if it drops below 40 degrees or so, you will need to add a top-coat layer. For the price, I can't see having to add a coat on top when it's only in the 30s. But for hikers and playing outdoor sports in winter, the light-weight and packability of this might be worth the cost. I don't do enough of that myself to warrant paying for those features without enough warmth for a chilly commute in January.
Brands I'd also recommend: LL Bean, Lands End for similar items but less expensive

Pricey...but something to wear often. Super comfy and easy to wash. Not good for sub zero, but great for around town, in the car and walks when it's not below freezing and/or very windy. A vest over the top helps in those extremes. The hood is so nice. Bought the down sweater without the hood last year -- wanted one with a hood, too.

There is no wonder why this jacket in this color in my size (M) is sold out everywhere! REI, nope. Patagonia, nope. Zappos had a few left and I jumped on it! Such a beautiful color and the jacket is so warm without being bulky!

I ordered a small and a medium in this jacket and ended up returning both because the fit is odd. The small was way too short - you could see all of my shirts sticking out of the bottom - and the medium was a bit longer but too big around. I wish this coat was several inches longer in the front. I did love how lightweight it is, yet very, very warm, but ultimately ended up buying (and loving) the Downtown Loft Jacket (in medium). It is more flattering on (comes in at the waist and then back out at the hips) and is longer. It is a bit puffier but because of the slimmer fit, actually is more flattering than the boxy Down Sweater. I am 5'8" and 130 pounds if that helps you with your decision.

This is a great down jacket. I got it in black and so far this winter it's been the jacket that I wear every day. I really love it, for the following reasons: 1. It is super light so it feels really comfortable 2. Despite its lightness, it's very warm in the cold weather. But, I've also worn this jacket when it's not been so cold (approx 50F) and it didn't make me feel too warm either. I live and work in the NYC area so I do a lot of walking around. 3. The finish of the material is interesting. It's not as matte and dull as the finish on other down jackets, thereby making it stand out in a sea of black jackets. 4. The hood is amazing. It covers and stays up well (you have to pull the zipper up over your neck for better staying power). I've been using the hood on this jacket instead of a hat (hats mash my hair down) and it's worked out very well. 5. It fits well.
Brands I'd also recommend: Keen, Burton, Smart Wool

Love it! Body length isn't as long as I'd like but other than that it's perfect. I wear it every day. Great for Montana winters.

This jacket is fabulous. Fit is great. I'm 5'5'' and 115 and the XS is perfect. Keeps me warm and it's light. Win win. I guess the only thing I'd improve is the pockets. They're a little shallow and sometimes my phone pops out. Luckily they have zippers so I've tried to train myself to always zip them up. Not a huge minus, though.
