I love this jacket! I ordered my normal size, but do feel that it runs a little large. I\'m happy with the fit though, since it allows me to layer under it. I bought a stuff sack at REI for when I travel with this; you can use the pocket as a stuff sack, but I prefer to have a separate bag for it. I don\'t think I can rationalize another down sweater, but I am coveting the plum color!

I really love this down sweater. It's so warm I can use it with only a t-shirt, and the weight is so light.

I bought this down sweater for my wife for her birthday. She absolutely loves it! Before this, she would wear multiple layers of bulky sweaters, fleece vests, etc. that ultimately made her look, well, bulky. Now she looks smart and raves about how light and warm her sweater is. We both work at a ski resort and know numerous people who wear this as a light ski parka on warmer days, although I'm not certain it's really durable enough for that purpose; it doesn't seem like it would take much to rip the light fabric. All in all, a great product!

I had been looking for a jacket just like this for 2 years. My husband surprised me by ordering it for me for Christmas. It is PERFECT! Very comfortable, lightweight & warm enough even for Alaskan winters.

Patagonia makes my favorite of several brands of 800 down jackets I own. It has a nice fit - thankfully not puffy or bulky. I'm always cold, and 800 down provides lots of warmth (at least for the SF Bay Area - I can't attest to snowy climates). I own both red and purple two of this style. They're really nice colors, too, and a great change from the usual black.

About Patagonia
Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

This is the best jacket ever. The lightness and fit are extraordinary given the exceptional amount of warmth this Patagonia provides. I can’t bring myself to be weighed down by a heavy overcoat or jacket when I can toss on this down sweater and be perfectly comfortable. Love the look. Easy wash & dry on low, with two clean tennis balls in the dryer. I love Zappos!

Warm, comfortable, & worth every penny. Doesn’t make you feel like a giant marshmallow when you wear it & it is so lightweight that you almost forget you are wearing an extremely warm jacket (except for noticing that you are not cold AT ALL!). And it’s machine washable, so how can you beat that?

Very light weight and super soft and comfortable. I have a different "long" more winter-ish down coat, and I wanted something that would work into spring. This is that coat. After much deliberation I chose the white (who am I kidding? I about busted a brain cell trying to pick a color!) because I felt like it would go with everything--especially my jeans and scarf. The white is nice, but it is a little weird because you can see the feathers under it. I have decided I can live with that. The jacket is so soft and comfy! And not as short as I feared it would be. Overall, a super good jacket. Go for it!

The *perfect* down jacket. Incredibly light, yet surprisingly very very very warm! The fit is beautiful. It has a slim, feminine cut, without making you look like the stay-puffed marshmallow man. I got a size small-- I think the extra small would have been too short in the sleeves, and the small seems to fit great without being bulky. The color is gorgeous! Even though it is called "bitter chocolate," it's not actually brown, more like a really dark maroon color. I decided to purchase this jacket from Zappos because the retail stores and the Patagonia website were sold out of the color I wanted. Go Zappos!

I bought this jacket because I have a long Patagonia down coat for winter, which I absolutely love. The down sweater is the perfect weight for cool early spring weather. It\'s very light weight and comfortable. It also squishes down to a very compact size, so it\'s great for packing. I haven\'t washed it yet, but the down coat washed well, so I have no doubt that this will too. My only complaint is that the jacket is a tad short for my taste. Most of my sweaters and shirts stick out about and inch or 2 below the bottom of the jacket. Other than that, it\'s perfect!

I bought this for my mom, who admired mine and had to have one. This is a fantastic jacket...perfect for travel. It folds up into its own pocket, looks elegant enough to wear out in the evening, and is just a great all around piece. It fits true to size. I'm a 6-8 and wear a medium. My mom is a 14 and is in an XL.

This jacket is well worth the money. I've worn it almost every day for the last six months. It's lightweight and toasty warm, good in a wide range of temperatures. The fit is flattering. Ample sleeves are nonbinding. I'm usually a medium or large; this medium fits just right. It layers great. For barn chores I usually wear a Carhartt over it. I've laundered it several times. The lighter color can be a bit hard to keep clean--something to consider if you're around horses. Zappos customer service is THE BEST.

There are a couple of striking features that make this jacket stand out from other down jackets. First, it is incredibly lightweight and packable, making it great for travel or outdoor pursuits. \r\nAlso, it is less bulky than any other down jacket that I\'ve looked at. \r\nThe way that it is quilted is less puffy, allowing for slightly more femine tailoring than your typical down puffy coat and making it easy to\r\nPayer if needed. All in all, one of the best down jackets for women.

Amazing jacket. Very light and super warm. I have been wearing mine since it arrive yesterday (next day shipping, thank You Zappos!) Since the jacket is a regular cut for Patagonia, this allows for mid-weight layering. I ordered a smaller size, knowing I will not layer to the extent that Patagonia allows on the regular-cut. If you use mid-layers, get your regular size, if you like a little slimmer fit, go a size smaller. The girl in the photo could go down a size and still have room for light layering. This is by far my favorite article of clothing (ever).

Light, packable and warm. I had to replace to small with a medium because I found after I'd piled on the layers I need for winter hiking, I needed more room. It would be good if Patagonia and other makes of such a coat would take that into consideration and make it roomier. But keeping it true to size does allow it to be used without so much underneath.
