Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

I can't say enough about this trench coat. I bought it at a Pagagonia store in Chicago out of necessity: It was pouring rain, and the winds were strong - and I was unprepared for the weather (I was visiting from out of town). I'd been looking for a trench coat for some time before purchasing this one. I couldn't find anything that suited me until I found this coat. Yes, it's expensive, but it's so worth it, at least in my opinion. It has wonderful features. Perhaps the most important thing about it is that it's 100% waterproof and breathable. It has lots of snaps, and I was particularly happy that it has snaps around the neckline to keep water out. It has two side pockets, and it also has an inside pocket, on the upper left side of your chest, presumably for an iPod, cell phone, etc. One other feature that I really like is the belt. I typically avoid belts because the belt gets twisted, falls off, etc. That's impossible with this belt, as it doesn't go all the way around. It starts at the waist, so there's no chance of the belt twisting or falling off. My only wish for this coat is that the hood were a bit longer & stayed in place better. In defense of Patagonia, it was a windy day. But I had to hold onto the hood to keep it in place; there were no ties of any sort to keep it in place. But if there were ties, it would have made the coat look less classy, in my opinion. One last thing: I found the coat to be true to size. I strongly recommend this coat; it's well worth the money!

This trench coat in blue is really unusual and lovely as well as stylish. If it is really waterproof too, that is great. My only ohter comments - I wish it were 1 to 2 inches longer. The price is a bit steep but it is really a pretty coat.

Really beautiful material, hardware, and workmanship. Fits very close to the body; unfortunately, too close for me and the sleeves to long for me. But if the size works for you, it's well worth the money.

Very flattering, slimming style- exactly what I was looking for! It's a deal on sale. Medium fits like a 10 in sleeve length and mobility through the back, something I always have trouble with. I can move my arms in this, and it doesn't look big! I am tallish, 5'8". I can see how it may be too long on someone shorter- like the model. But for me, the minimalist, practical style is perfect.

It is a beautiful coat. Just too long in the sleeves and length for my petite stature. I wish they made it in petite. I am 5'2.
