    Got these pants for the trek to Everest Base Camp and they were more than up to the task - kept me warm, dry and comfy up to over 18,000 ft! The brushed inside of the fabric is soft against the skin, and the outside is sturdy and wind-resistant. The design of these pants is good: lots of handy pockets and room in the knees and seat for ease of movement. The zips and snaps at the bottom are also nice for customizing the fit down there.

    Great snowshoe or winter hiking pants. Love all the pockets. Smooth, soft-shell, waterproof, very durable, rip resistant. Great length (I'm 5'8"); little low on waist; very slightly high in crotch; snap waist could use tad more elastic in back band. All reasons glad I sized up from 4 to 6. Not as windproof as I'd like, but okay. Needed silk thermals underneath when temps dipped below 30 & wind gusted 25mph. Note to all sport-pant manufacturers: Stop making high crotch, low-waisted hiking/snow pants! Not practical. We need function. Not fashion outdoors!

    Brands I'd also recommend: Columbia; SportHill; The North Face;

    I love these pants! My husband got a pair and wore them on our recent trip to Sweden and they kept him warm and dry when we went snowmobiling and they looked so good. So now I have a pair and they are great for hiking and tooling around. Very comfortable.

    I purchased these pants to play winter golf. They work! I no longer need long johns to get through the round. I have 2 pairs and wear them exclusively. I love them so much I purchased more Paragonia to ski in.

    Traveling the globe in search of the best materials for their clothing and gear, Patagonia leads the way with their innovative fabrics and technologies. Quality and performance are top priority with Patagonia. With every garment made by them comes reassurance that it will not only be long lasting, but strong as well.

    Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.

    Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.
