These pants are awesome. I pretty much haven't taken them off since I got them. They are water resistant, wind resistant, warm, comfortable, lightweight, look good; all around high performance! I like all the pockets, and adjustable zippered/buttoned bottoms. Looking forward to playing around in the snow in them.
Brands I'd also recommend: The North Face, REI

The pants fit great are very comfortably warm and stretch a little make hiking and climbing great in cold and or wet conditions. I've used them for hiking mountains in Alaska and Oregon as well as for snowmobiling and have absolutely no complaints so far.
Brands I'd also recommend: OR, mammut, mountain hardware, artyrex

These pants are very tight in the hips and thighs. I usually wear a 32 waist from Patagonia but had to return them and get a 34 so the hips would fit. The pants are great, I have used them for spring skiing, rock climbing and mountaineering. They are very comfortable and stretchy. Warm but not too warm; they are still good for summer mountaineering at high altitude.

I was nervous about the slim fit. I wear a 38 waist and my thighs are so large that most pants don't fit me, regardless of the waist size. These, however, fit very comfortably. The waist has a bit of elastic, so if your worried about the hips being too snug, you have an extra half inch of stretch. The thighs are very roomy. these are a great fit and I can move around in them easily. The best part is the ankles are narrow enough not to slip under the heel of my shoe, but have a zipper so they can widen to pull off while keeping your shoes on. They are a good medium warmth, but breathe well. I would recommend wearing long underwear in snowy conditions, but these will keep you warm and dry from the low 30's to the high 50's. They are perfect for the northwest.

About Patagonia
Patagonia's values reflect those of a business that started as a band of climbers and surfers who wanted to stay out as long as they can, doing what they love, no matter the weather. Patagonia's design approach to every product, from technical shells for snow and ice, to moisture-wicking underclothes, to everyday clothes, demonstrates a functional bias toward simplicity and utility. Quality is impeccable, and the guarantee lifelong.
Patagonia's love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. They use organic cotton; most polyester is recycled. They give moral support - and 1% of sales, $25 million to date - to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

Awesome pants. I ordered 33's originally but they were a bit baggy. 32's fit the legs perfectly but were a bit snug in the waist. They are made from a material with some stretch so they are still comfortable. Good all around outdoor pants even against abrasion & rough surfaces (cave walls).
