This bag is okay, but there is a much better choice from Pac-Safe. I ordered both this bag and the Pac-Safe Metrosafe 300 Laptop bag. The "laptop" descriptor on the Metrosafe 300 bag is really a misnomer because that bag is only very slightly larger and not any heavier or bulkier than this bag. But the few inches of added space makes a huge difference between the bags - like a cell phone pocket actually wide enough to hold a smart phone in the 300 but not in the 250. The 300 is not big enough for full size laptops; however, for notebooks or iPads or kindles or SLR cameras or just about anything else you want to carry, the Metrosafe 300 is highly superior to this 250 in my opinion. Besides just those few extra inches of room that make the 300 hold your iPad or SLR camera or iPhone better than the 250, the security features of the 300 are better and easier (less frustrating) to use. On the 250 the front compartment does not have a flap and the zippers pull all the way down to one side to a catch that is concealed within a tiny little pocket. That catch is very difficult and frustrating to use to latch the zippers. Be prepared to fumble with it a lot! On the 300 the front compartment is covered by a flap and the zippers pull together at the top under the flap and latch to a catch that is much easier to use. The flap folds up and over the top of the bag and stays out of the way when you are accessing the front compartment, but then flips down over the secured zippers and attaches down with a couple of small velcro strips. The beauty of this design is the extra security - you would hear someone open the velcro, and the flap allows the zippers to be up top and easily unlatched and opened. The other difference is that the back compartment on the 300 has a zipper top and bottom, while the 250 only has a top zipper. The 300 can have both zippers opened so the bag slides down over your suitcase handles. Then when not riding on your suitcase, you can zip the bottom zipper and use that compartment for maps or documents, etc. The 250 will not slide over your suitcase handles. So, if you are going to get the most versatile, easy to use bag for travel from Pac-Safe - choose the 300 and not the 250. To see my complete review of the Pac-Safe MetroSafe 300 click on my reviews. For years, I was hesitant about buying a Pacsafe bag, because I was not sure if the protection was sufficient and worth the extra weight. Reviews of prior generations of Pacsafe bags disclosed lots of quality control issues, such as cheap zippers and thin fabric. For the 250 GII, I discovered that the metal mesh does not cover the entire bag -- I called Pacsafe to confirm this. The rep told me that only the front and the bottom are covered. So, a professional pickpocket (most of these folks are extremely smart and dexterous) can simply cut from the top or the back side of this bag. This bag does not hold a 13-inch Macbook Air or Macbook Pro, both of which I own. The laptop sleeve doesn't have a velcro tab on top to prevent the laptop from sliding out (when the bag is placed horizontally). In addition, this bag doesn't have much depth -- you can't put much else in it. The major positive thing about the 250 GII is that the look of this bag is much better than the previous version's.

I ordered these in black and absolutely love them! I am super picky when it comes to purses, but this is the best one that I have ever had. I have had surgery on both shoulders and the padded strap makes it possible to carry my purse on my shoulder comfortably. I love it!

We purchased this bag at the same time we purchased the Metrosafe 150 sling bag. We intended to carry both bags during a trip to Rome. The Metrosafe 250 had twice the room of the Metrosafe 150 sling bag. We ended up putting everything we wanted to carry into the 250 GII and traded off carrying that bag alone. We were able to fit in my wallet, two glasses cases, our emergency stash of meds and handywipes, passports, maps, two iPhones (one of which was in one of those gargantuan Otterbox cases), and a glucometer. We still had room, and ended up adding books and postcards from the Vatican after a visit to a gift shop. The two drink holders can accommodate a medium sized water bottle easily - we kept 500 ml bottles in those pockets easily. The hooks that secure the zippers can take getting used to, and they are only on one side of the bag (as the bag is facing you, they are on the right), and this could become a problem for lefties or if you switch the bag to the other shoulder if it gets heavy. The bag isn't beautiful, but at least I wasn't worried about ruining the finish by getting the bag a little dirty or wet. Overall, glad we had it, and offered some peace of mind while packed like sardines onto a city bus.
