Full disclosure, I did not buy these boots on Zappos because I was getting tired of ordering boots and sending them back forever and a day, but I saw them here and thought I'd contribute to the chorus of reviews. I am 5'6" and slim and have 13.5" calves but somewhat wide feet. I have had a hell of a time finding a boot that didn't pinch my feet but also make it look like my calves were swimming around in the boots like a little girl who put on Mom's boots. These are totally adjustable and would likely fit a wider calf just fine, as well as a narrower calf like mine, especially when you go to your local shoe repair shop and have them punch a couple of additional holes in the buckles so you can tighten them even more if necessary. They now fit me like a glove whether in skinny jeans - I let the buckles out by a hole or two - or tights. In addition, the buckles give these boots a super cool moto look, but they are still elegant. The leather is good quality and the boots are comfortable and not stiff. I could not recommend these any more highly if I tried!

Those are seriously horrible boots. I was shocked when I saw them because I've ordered them based on the many good reviews. The leather is the poorest quality I've ever seen on a pair of boots, if you would make me guess I would have said it's plastic not leather and I am pretty good at figuring out materials. I'm a size 9:5-10, but pretty much all my boots are size 10. Given the options I went with 41 (size 10-10.5). The foot was easily a size bigger so those are more like a U.S. size 10.5-11. Now about this calf business-are you kidding me?! All those buckles were for nothing. Those boots have a seriously narrow shaft. Yes, I have wide calves but I have tons of boots and often I don't even need to buy wide calf, from the 10+ pairs I own only one single pair is wide calf and that is a pair of Spanish boots bought from a British company. Back to those boots, I was able to close the zipper only with the buckles completely unbuckled and even then they were extremely uncomfortable. The ankle part is super snug, fits fine but given that the shaft is so narrow the whole fit is odd and really bad. For full disclosure I'm wearing a pair of Ponte leggings. I measured my calf right now and it's 17 inches, I'm 5'7" and have big bones. So now that you know my measurements and how those fit maybe you'll make a better decision if you should buy them or not. Luckily returns are so easy with Zappos. Those are going back tomorrow. I think the worst of it all is the cheap look of the leather. They are also a lot darker than in the photo.

This is my third pair. I have the black and a kind of "cognac". I bought the dove this time, and the color is a very rich, deep grey which almost has a pearalized effect. These fit really well, and are adjustable on the sides with the buckles, so will fit a range of calf sizes (mine runs around 16 inches). The boot itself is very comfortable, with a low heel. Great for walking. They are extremely well made. My black pair is starting to show their age, but still serviceable. I have a similar Frey boot, and it is not NEARLY as comfortable, and was probably twice the price. I hope they make these forever! P.S. The Moto look is a little edgy and cool, but still conservative enough for my boring workplace.

I'd also recommend: Nine West, Born, Frye, Dansko, Dr. Martens

I bought these boots in 2009. These exact boots! And I paid the same price they are listed for here, seven years later. I still wear these boots constantly. They are the best money I have ever spent on footwear. I have done very little as far as maintenance. Now that they are getting older I do polish them with black boot polish. That being said I have punished these boots and they still look great. They are comfy, not cushy. I wear them for long periods of time and have very little complaints. I need them in every color.

These boots look very nice. They are a bit on the shiny side and don't feel as good of quality as other leather boots I have tried on. I wear an 11 wide in Dansko, Cobb Hill, and Teva. These are not wide. They feel like an 11 medium. The calf width was just right for me. I have 15 inch circumference. They did not overly gape with tights and had just enough room for jeans without straining the zipper.

I'd also recommend: Dansko, Keen, Birkenstock, Cobb Hill
