It was worth every penny of the investment. Actually it was very inexpensive compared to many of the others and it isn't just a salad spinner. You could use the inside as a colander, you can even store food in the refrigerator with it. The spinning is just by pushing down the center which a senior citizen and even a child could do with ease. I don't know how I did without it, the freshness of the salad is remarkable and I know it is clean. Don't hesitate to purchase this spinner. You made the right choice.

I haven't used my OXO Salad Spinner yet. I am still sentimental about my old one. Don't ask. I chose this one because others like it so much. And, you can see just by trying one out that it works well.
Brands I'd also recommend: Not sure, this brand seems to be the one that shows up in the better gourmet stores.

My husband and I love this salad spinner. We always rinse our lettuce (prepackaged or not)and the SS gets rid of the excess water so thatthe salad stays crisp. The SS is easy to clean, although I'd recommend against dissembling the lid unless you can't get it clean otherwise. The lid's not easy to take apart and you might damage the SS. We broke our first one that way.

Bought this one as a gift, but have one of my own. Does a great job on salad, berries, anything you don't want to eat drenched in water. I have had mine for years, and it keeps holding up.

I was wanting a better salad spinner since the old cheap one tanked. After looking at all the reviews I decided to go with the extra money and get his one. One thing I didn't realize was that you cannot run water through the unit and spin at the same time. I miss that feature. But this really gets the greens dry and holds lots and is very sturdy. Also I wish I would have gotten the black combo as there is a green strip at the bottom of the bowl. I am picky though!

This is the salad spinner. It is solidly made, highly functional, easy to use, clean, store, and look at. It does not hurt my arthritic hands to spin it: just push down on the wide disk on the top a couple of times to get enough speed to dry off your greens. Spins so easily and long that you may need to use the brake button to bring it to a stop. I love it.

this is the quintessential salad spinner. I have searched high and low and have not found a better one. I purchased one for myself and I gifted another. If you can find a better salad spinner please let me know! It works great, center plunger mechanics works best because it is stable and prevents slips and accidents. It makes making salad quick, easy and fun. Get one and enjoy!
