I shopped and looked at quite a few travel type hand bags but decided on this one and am so glad I did. I love the size and how comfortable it is (also very light weight)and how easy it to find everything inside. It fits cross body very nicely and lays flat against the body, which I like. It's not a fashion statement purse but suits my casual life style perfectly. I love it!
I love this purse! It is a great casual bag for the weekend and I plan on using it for music festivals this summer. My only complaint is that I wish it was just an inch or two bigger. My iPad barely fits in it and if I do have it I can't really carry anything else.
I just love this bag. I had a different Overland Equipment bag that was stolen from my car, and I never thought I'd find an adequate replacement. This lacks a feature of the old bag--pockets with magnets that close--but instead it has the sleeve that you can use to put over your rolling luggage. I'd prefer the former, but do appreciate the latter. Great bag.
I ordered and returned several Overland and Keen bags. This one is the perfect purse for me. I love the size and the outside pockets. I thought the Velcro closure would bother me, but it's small and not loud at all. The front section is perfect for credit cards, coupons, iPhone and cash (in the zippered part). I use the back section for my keys. There are two compartments in the main section, one of which I keep my sunglasses. My sunglasses are too big for the front, outside section. I rarely zip my purses, so it's so easy to grab my shades. I no longer need a wallet. There are three places for credit cards; however, I shove several cards in each holder. I can't say enough about this purse. The only downside is the colors. They are much different than what the website shows. I ordered the Poppy and it's not a bright orange, but more like a rust. I will still use it this summer, but might also order the Wheat. I had to return the Red Violet because it was a purple plum. It is a beautiful color, but I would buy that one for fall/winter.
I already had this bag in Poppy and loved it so much I had to have another. This is a really great color - deep magenta/plum. However, it is slightly different from the Poppy colored bag. First, there are only four slots for credit cards (the Poppy had six) and secondly, the magnets that hold the flap down on this one are weak (the Poppy magnets are nice and strong). Overall still very satisfied, but I wonder why they changed it when they had a good thing going?
3 things I appreciate about this bag and they are things that made other bags less than fab are, strap width not more than 1 in., no velcro (not clothing friendly) and no excessive metal hardware (detracts from style and adds weight). Construction is top notch.Strap is length indicated in description.
I love this. It has many pockets for all my credit cards, reward cards, membership cards and punch cards. The change pocket has a secure zipper. My cellphone even fits inside. It's great for when I would rather not carry a purse. However, it fits in my purse too. Best feature? It's sturdy. Not a single thread has popped.
The color and fabric were great. This purse came in handy while traveling abroad. Two different zippered compartments large enough to fit passport, wallet, etc. My only complaint was that it was not wide enough at the zipper to fit my iPad mini, which is what I wanted the bag for. I will absolutely use the purse again. And, as always, Zappos service was phenomenal!
Purchased this bag to stow under the seat when flying. It is the perfect size to fit under an airline seat. The bag is well constructed and the handles adjust to any length. The interior is light blue to help with visibility. The material is light weight, but seems sturdy. I am satisfied this bag will last me for many years.
I looked at tons of bags before deciding on this one and I am so glad I chose this bag. I am 5'8" and so many crossbody bags have short straps, this one does not, it fits at the hip and close to the body, which I like. It's light weight, an average size but oh so roomy. There are pockets for everything and it has a magnet closure versus that awful velcro. I bought this to take on trips and outdoor events but it will be my everyday bag. I love it! If you want a dainty feminine bag then it's not for you, but it suits my outdoor lifestyle perfectly.
I got this bag for an upcoming trip. I am currently breaking it in so I will be used to where everything is stashed inside. It is a very versatile bag and well made. I like it because of the front pocket organizer, inner and outer slip pockets and especially the bottle holders on both sides. It's easy to use as a cross body or shoulder style bag. It's easy to adjust the strap and it's wide enough to be comfortable when the bag is loaded. It's not even too heavy when holding a full bottle of water. What I don't like is the front flap is a little too long and floppy, the outside front pouch very useful but a bit on the shallow side, and the bag itself deeper than I usually like and the zipper opening a bit narrow for the depth. I wanted to love this bag because it got great reviews. I think it looks great in the Navy Blue and will be quite useful while traveling, but my overall thoughts are it's just okay.
I was so excited to get this bag but unfortunately have to return it. I am 5 ft 5 and of average build but when worn crossbody this bag only hits me at the top of the hip. I prefer a crossbody which sits lower than that. Two more inches on the strap would have accomplished it. Darn!
I really wanted to like this bag! I really dislike traditional purses and I wanted something practical for urban use. I love the stitched design on the front, and I wanted this size of cross body bag. I love the zip top, and also the flap design. But. This is much darker in real life -- almost charcoal or slate rather than the lighter gray that appeared on my screen. Also, I really found the strap to be confounding. It is really hard to adjust -- not something you could quickly change from short to long if you were, say, on the subway or on a flight and you wanted to change from a purse length to cross body to sling your bag over your shoulder quickly. And the strap has been dyed black so I had concerns that on a really hot day here in DC when the temps are over 98 and the humidity feels like 130% I'd sweat and the color would run on my clothes. Maybe this would not be an issue for someone who lives in say, Alaska. I wish the strap was made of either natural leather or a fabric -- then this would not be an issue. I also think the leather doesn't look very nice when you where it like a cross body bag -- it is bulky and doesn't sit comfortably across the front. I guess this just didn't seem like the practical non-purse I was hoping for!
I really like this bag. Its best feature is how light it is. And the colors and design are beautiful. I ordered the dove/blue mist. The bag body is a very beautiful neutral color. The stitching design looks very well done and I don't worry about it coming undone. I love the light color interior, I will only buy bags like this now, it makes looking for things in the bag so much easier. I am a size 1X and sometimes straps are too short to wear comfortably, these straps are a great length. The leather strap is smooth on one side, and textured on the other, helping it stay on my shoulder. The bag stands up by itself when packed. Two things I would change, I wish the inside zippered pocket was the same height as the bag, it only half deep. And I wish there was some kind of water bottle pocket on the inside to keep a bottle standing upright. I love the simple outside without visible pockets, but appreciate the inside ones very much. Expensive bag, a splurge, but very happy with it. I will also be using it in place of my regular carry on for an upcoming trip. The lightweight will be appreciated!
I bought this bag because I was looking for a something with a little more room than my Bayliss, but not a necessarily something to hold my tablet, etc. The Isabella is described as smaller version of the Auburn, and initially I was pleased with the size. The first downfall was that it lacks multiple credit card slots - the Bayliss has 6 slots that hold 2 cards each. No need to carry a wallet when you use the zipper section for cash. And a really big surprise was the fleece line pocket of the Isabella is way too small for my EVO, whereas the Bayliss holds it just fine. Also not overly fond of the hook & loop closure - so noisy! Seems like most of the bags have that closure now, rather than magnets like the Bayliss. So Isabella is going back. Maybe Overland Equipment will make a larger version of the Bayliss - which apparently I love! Or maybe I'll just get another Bayliss. My other Overland Equipment bag is a Pixley and I highly recommend that one too. Especially the color - Red-Violet Plum - you should it for yourself - it's a deep gorgeous magenta.
Great roomy bag, well designed but a bit clunky. It came in second and was returned and the bag that was kept was the sleeker and more secure PacSafe. But that aside, one of the things I was looking for was a design that allowed the main compartment to be locked with a small TSA type lock to keep sticky fingers out of it. That kind of lock up was very simple with the double ended zipper on this design.
Dang it. This purse is very cute, but it has a fatal flaw. There are two very weak magnetic closures to "hold it shut," except, they don't stay shut - especially when you have anything in the pocket. I placed my iPhone in there and the pocket just gaped open. I like everything about this purse except this one flaw, but I'm not taking the risk of losing my phone or anything else I happen to store in this deal-breaker of a front pocket.
Nope. Not the bag for me. Although I love how it looks, there is not enough space for my water bottle, wallet and all the other crazy stuff I tote along with me. The front flap pocket is dangerously useless. There are two very weak magnetic closures to "hold it shut," except, they don't stay shut - especially when you have anything in the pocket. I placed my iPhone in there and the pocket just gaped open. It is cute, but I'm definitely returning this one.
I was looking for a messenger bag and was pleased with the reviews for Overland. I saved with shipping. I am very happy that it's so light and has many compartments. But it won't hold its shape. I don't really mind that because I just carry it from my car to the building. The snaps are a little tight, hopefully it won't stay that way over time. Over all, this is a good buy. It looks well made.
I have purchased and used the Donner bag by Overland for several years. These handbags are very sturdy and keep their shape. The design has been improved by making the front outside pocket one piece. If you are petite, this bag is the right size. The wider bottom on the bag allows you to put a lot of stuff in without making the bag look bulgy. I find that it is easy to find your stuff when rummaging around in the bag. Pretty liner materials, too. The dove grey is a nice neutral color. The handbag is well made. This style is a cross between a conventional handbag and a messenger bag withoutthe size and heft. Glad to see that Zappos has this style available.
I needed a sling- style bag since backpacks and purses invariably kill my shoulders, and I walk to work. This bag is a great alternative (I just leave a purse at the office in case I need one). My shoulders do not hurt at all even when I walk two miles with a full bag. It is not huge, which I consider a good thing, but it is big enough (I couldn't possibly carry everything I need to carry in the half-pack style). I carry all the stuff I would normally carry in my purse - small wallet, card case, cosmetics case, keys, multiple pairs of glasses, breakfast (usually two plastic containers) and gym clothes (but carrying all that, I either wear sneakers, or have to carry them outside the bag). There are two side pockets - water, phone etc. actually, there is a phone pocket on the strap but I have not used it yet. There is also a very handy large front pocket with organizer pockets. The only problem I have with the bag is that when it is slung over my shoulder, it does slip a little. All in all, a very good choice - and the plum color is a nice alternative to black.
