Outdoor Kids Reviews

  • Keen Kids by Seacamp Crib (Infant) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Mar 2, 2015 Dania R. from Los Angeles, CA

These are the best little shoes for my 1 year old toddler. I have received so many compliments on how cute they are. They are a cute color. They look adorable on my daughter's feet. Great little sandal. The best part and what was most important to me, is that the sole is a nice thin piece of leather so my daughter's feet are forming and shaping as they are meant to be while she learns to walk. This is as close to her being barefoot as we can get while still protecting her feet from hot sand/sidewalks and dirty store floors. The only negative is that the Velcro attachment is more weak than I'd prefer. Little girl can swipe the cross-strap off with no effort at all and the Velcro pieces are so small, I'm afraid that they aren't going to last as long as the shoes. These also get dirty relatively easy, but that's to be expected from a new walker/toddler. Overall, I adore these little shoes and will probably be buying the next size up once my daughter's feet outgrow these. They fit true to size. I followed the measuring chart directly on Keen's web page and it was very accurate.

  • Keen Kids by Chandler CNX (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 3 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Mar 2, 2015 Linda

We have always loved the fit and look of Keen shoes for our very active 8 year old grandson. After one week of wearing this shoe, we are happy with the fit and look of the shoe. We are not happy that the trim is already peeling off. Other reviewers mentioned this flaw and I chose to ignore it. It happens. After one week, the trim is peeling off the sides of the shoe. The trim is what makes the shoe "cool."

  • Stonz by Rainboots (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Mar 2, 2015 Anonymous

Got these for my 2 year old and they fit, look, and feel great. These are the perfect rain boot I was looking for. Got it in the bright green color and it is a very nice color.

  • Tundra Boots Kids by Puffy (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Mar 2, 2015 Trish from Bayonne , NJ

I actually read the reviews to determine this purchase. I made a great choice! True to size, water proof and warm in the snow. And very stylish! My ten year old loves them!

  • UGG Kids by Dakota (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Mar 2, 2015 Anonymous

I absolutely love these slippers! They are so warm and comfy. They do run big. I wear 4 1/2 - 5 but I order the kids size 3 and they fit well.

  • Keen Kids by Seacamp II CNX (Toddler/Little Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Mar 2, 2015 Anonymous from Santa Cruz

These shoes are awesome and good enough to be our one shoe for the spring/summer. I got them a bit big so my daughter could wear them with socks while it's still cool. The little toggle tightener really works to tighten it so even when she is not wearing socks they are nice and snug. For this reason I would recommend going for a larger size if you're in-between. I was worried abut the flexibility of the sole, as many keens are stiffer than I want for my toddler (I don't want a stiff sole messing up her perfect, untainted walking pattern and foot muscles--a la minimalist philosophy). I was happy to find that this is one of the more flexible soles keen offers, while still burly enough to protect her feet from sharp rocks, etc. Another plus--she's been wearing them for weeks now and no funky odors! Also, the red is freakin'!

About Outdoor Kids

Daddy drove for a long time. We went up mountains and through hills. My mom pointed out all the important things to look at, like the horses and the ducks. But when we finally got to our camping site, I couldn't wait to jump out of the car!

I was prepared for all the mud and puddles in my new KeenKids boots. I feel like I have total control over my feet! I can't wait for our hike, but first we have to set up camp. I love everything about camping. We have great sleeping bags from The North Face® that we can snuggle under, and the scariest ghost story around the campfire won't keep me awake. I even have some fun pajamas from Life Is Good® to wear on our first night.

Next year, I'll be going to summer camp all by myself! I can't wait to meet other kids my age and go on hikes with them and make s'mores at night. I'm getting some good practice this year with my family vacation, and I've already broken in my Merrell Kids® hiking shoes. Over the winter, our parents took us out in the snow. I had a lot of fun learning how to ski, but even more fun learning how to snowboard! My little brother went sledding and started a few snowball fights. We both really love the warm clothes Mom bought us from Obermeyer Kids®. Now we can really tackle that mountain!

We don't always stick to the snow. On this trip, we're having so much fun discovering all the trees, the little critters and even each other. I never knew my dad was scared of spiders. But he is! He saw one on my backpack while we were on the trail and he totally freaked out. It was pretty funny. It was a good thing I was wearing a cool Patagonia® Kids beanie. I wouldn't want a spider in my hair! No insects were harmed, by the way. Dad is an eco-friendly kind of guy, and he just brushed him off into the woods.

We walked for a long time. I'm glad Mom had my little brother in his Baby Jogger™. She says it's really durable and safe on all the trails. He just sits back all nice and cozy, but his feet sure do look cute in his Teva® Kids sandals. We also packed some Columbia® Kids rain boots, just in case. If the weather does turn cold, I'll have all the protection I need because I've also brought my jacket and a warm top. I am so ready for this vacation!

Sometimes I think that vacations are even better than recess. You can't go fishing at recess, for example. But with my new water friendly Sorel® Kids boots, I can hit the lake front and bring some dinner back to camp!

I hope you liked my story. And I hope your family goes on an amazing vacation this year, too!
