Outdoor Kids Reviews

  • adidas Outdoor Kids by Hydroterra Shandal (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Apr 19, 2015 Anonymous from sioux falls

I bought these for my six year old son. He has wide feet and high insteps and these are comfortable for him. These shoes seem like they are made out of neoprene and mesh with an elastic heel, allowing him to slip on and off without tying every time. That is handy when you need to get going quickly! My son is attracted to water and mud puddles and then jumping into the sandbox. These shoes have washed up great and easily dry overnight, perhaps in a few hours, I have not timed it. They are nice shoe for this spring season and summer. My son is happy with these shoes (the right colors and the right amount of grippers on the soles), he can run and jump and play like wearing traditional tennis shoes. We have had them for about one month. They are just what mom was looking for!

  • adidas Outdoor Kids by Daroga Leather (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Apr 19, 2015 Russ Babcock from Utah

Great shoes. My 9 year old son is really hard on shoes, but these have been great. They fit well, look good, and take a beating. My son isn't really picky about the look of shoes, but he plays soccer and these fit the soccer mold (expect as much from Adidas).

  • Chaco Kids by ZX/1® Ecotread (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Apr 19, 2015 annette rowe from United States

I teach 5th and 6th grade math. These shoes are perfect for me (I wear a size 6 Big Kid). This is my second pair. After two years of good use, the soles were beginning to loose traction. They are so comfortable, I bought a pair for my mom for her 72nd birthday. She wears hers all the time. We both have narrow feet, and these shoes accommodate us well. Don't hesitate to buy these for your kids, parents, and yourself!

  • Keen Kids by Coronado High Top Leather (Toddler/Little Kid) Overall Rated: 3 stars! Comfort Rated: 2 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Apr 19, 2015 carrie mclaren from brooklyn, ny

I love the look of these shoes and the fact that Keen's are so durable. But my son, who seldom complains about shoes, finds them uncomfortable. The tongue doesn't work quite right and always seems to be slipping; we had the same problem with a pair of Keen lowtop sneakers. He also says they are hard to run in.

  • Teva Kids by Mush II (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Apr 19, 2015 Anonymous from Minneapolis, MN

Our 10-year-old son loves them! He doesn't mind the strap between his toes. I should have returned them for a size smaller, but we were off on our Spring Break trip and didn't have time. He said they were fine. He likes how cushiony they feel, and the colors go with anything.

  • Teva Kids by Hurricane 3 (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 4 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Apr 19, 2015 Anonymous from Tennessee

Order a size larger than anticipated. We were ordering to replace a previous style of Teva Hurricane. The size my son outgrew was an 8 so we ordered a 9. The new style is made smaller so that the sole of the new 9 was the same length as the previous 8. We exchanged for a 10 and are now happy. Thankfully Zappos offered free shipping for returns.

About Outdoor Kids

Daddy drove for a long time. We went up mountains and through hills. My mom pointed out all the important things to look at, like the horses and the ducks. But when we finally got to our camping site, I couldn't wait to jump out of the car!

I was prepared for all the mud and puddles in my new KeenKids boots. I feel like I have total control over my feet! I can't wait for our hike, but first we have to set up camp. I love everything about camping. We have great sleeping bags from The North Face® that we can snuggle under, and the scariest ghost story around the campfire won't keep me awake. I even have some fun pajamas from Life Is Good® to wear on our first night.

Next year, I'll be going to summer camp all by myself! I can't wait to meet other kids my age and go on hikes with them and make s'mores at night. I'm getting some good practice this year with my family vacation, and I've already broken in my Merrell Kids® hiking shoes. Over the winter, our parents took us out in the snow. I had a lot of fun learning how to ski, but even more fun learning how to snowboard! My little brother went sledding and started a few snowball fights. We both really love the warm clothes Mom bought us from Obermeyer Kids®. Now we can really tackle that mountain!

We don't always stick to the snow. On this trip, we're having so much fun discovering all the trees, the little critters and even each other. I never knew my dad was scared of spiders. But he is! He saw one on my backpack while we were on the trail and he totally freaked out. It was pretty funny. It was a good thing I was wearing a cool Patagonia® Kids beanie. I wouldn't want a spider in my hair! No insects were harmed, by the way. Dad is an eco-friendly kind of guy, and he just brushed him off into the woods.

We walked for a long time. I'm glad Mom had my little brother in his Baby Jogger™. She says it's really durable and safe on all the trails. He just sits back all nice and cozy, but his feet sure do look cute in his Teva® Kids sandals. We also packed some Columbia® Kids rain boots, just in case. If the weather does turn cold, I'll have all the protection I need because I've also brought my jacket and a warm top. I am so ready for this vacation!

Sometimes I think that vacations are even better than recess. You can't go fishing at recess, for example. But with my new water friendly Sorel® Kids boots, I can hit the lake front and bring some dinner back to camp!

I hope you liked my story. And I hope your family goes on an amazing vacation this year, too!
