Outdoor Kids Reviews

  • Vibram FiveFingers Kids by Alitza (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Aug 30, 2014 Mary

These Vibram FiveFingers are great for yoga. I was tearing the bottom of my toes up on a no-slip yoga mat and these ended that problem. Smallest size you can wear is best for yoga.

  • Hatley Kids by Rain Boots (Toddler/Little Kid) Overall Rated: 3 stars! Comfort Rated: 3 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Aug 30, 2014 Anonymous from connecticut

These boots are adorable and the colors are as vivid as the picture online. However, they are VERY heavy making it too difficult for my 20-month old to walk in them.

  • Keen Kids by Jamison (Toddler/Little Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Aug 30, 2014 Anonymous from Georgia

These Keens are our first pair and so far I'm impressed. Purchased for my Kindergartener everyday school wear. He is almost 6; can easily manage the bungee elastic after one lesson on how to do it. The dark colors have disguised dirt well and after 3 weeks of nearly daily use there are still no tears, loose stitches or signs of wear. The fabric around the sides is a soft, breathable mesh. The soles are very flexible and cushy. The black sole wraps up to cover the big toe area and seems to be protecting the place where my kid tears a shoe first! Great design.

  • Keen Kids by Chandler CNX (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Aug 29, 2014 Kendra from Indianapolis, Indiana

Keen are my favorite shoes for my 4 year old son. He used to wear the sandals but he likes the tennis shoes better. He is able to put them on by himself and he can wear them with or without socks. I bought them in April and they have been worn hard over the Spring and Summer and are still are in good shape. I have thrown them in the washer several times and they wash up nicely! We are are getting the Koven Low style for Fall and Winter because he is just about grown out of these.

  • Teva Kids by Zirra (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 4 stars! Aug 29, 2014 Sheila Love from Chicago, IL

Comfortable and stylish. Once I was able to adjust the straps to fit my feet, they felt great. These are marketed for kids but I'm a 35 year old with a toddler to keep up with.

  • The North Face Kids by Hooded Soft Shell Jacket (Little Kids/Big Kids) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Aug 29, 2014 Cindy Leung-Lau from South San Francisco, Ca

I bought this for my 16 yrs old son and he loved the style and was thrill about it. I told him I got it from and one day delivery. He was shocked for the fast delivery. Way to go Zappos! Thank you!

About Outdoor Kids

Daddy drove for a long time. We went up mountains and through hills. My mom pointed out all the important things to look at, like the horses and the ducks. But when we finally got to our camping site, I couldn't wait to jump out of the car!

I was prepared for all the mud and puddles in my new KeenKids boots. I feel like I have total control over my feet! I can't wait for our hike, but first we have to set up camp. I love everything about camping. We have great sleeping bags from The North Face® that we can snuggle under, and the scariest ghost story around the campfire won't keep me awake. I even have some fun pajamas from Life Is Good® to wear on our first night.

Next year, I'll be going to summer camp all by myself! I can't wait to meet other kids my age and go on hikes with them and make s'mores at night. I'm getting some good practice this year with my family vacation, and I've already broken in my Merrell Kids® hiking shoes. Over the winter, our parents took us out in the snow. I had a lot of fun learning how to ski, but even more fun learning how to snowboard! My little brother went sledding and started a few snowball fights. We both really love the warm clothes Mom bought us from Obermeyer Kids®. Now we can really tackle that mountain!

We don't always stick to the snow. On this trip, we're having so much fun discovering all the trees, the little critters and even each other. I never knew my dad was scared of spiders. But he is! He saw one on my backpack while we were on the trail and he totally freaked out. It was pretty funny. It was a good thing I was wearing a cool Patagonia® Kids beanie. I wouldn't want a spider in my hair! No insects were harmed, by the way. Dad is an eco-friendly kind of guy, and he just brushed him off into the woods.

We walked for a long time. I'm glad Mom had my little brother in his Baby Jogger™. She says it's really durable and safe on all the trails. He just sits back all nice and cozy, but his feet sure do look cute in his Teva® Kids sandals. We also packed some Columbia® Kids rain boots, just in case. If the weather does turn cold, I'll have all the protection I need because I've also brought my jacket and a warm top. I am so ready for this vacation!

Sometimes I think that vacations are even better than recess. You can't go fishing at recess, for example. But with my new water friendly Sorel® Kids boots, I can hit the lake front and bring some dinner back to camp!

I hope you liked my story. And I hope your family goes on an amazing vacation this year, too!
