Their mission is to create innovative high performance gear that reflects a love of adventure and a devotion to the outdoors and the environment. Osprey defines success when it meets the demanding expectation of its most discerning customers. Through custom molding technology in the hipbelts, their packs ensure a comfortable and precise fit. Women’s specific designs are created to conform naturally to a woman’s body. Suspension systems such as the AirScape, AirCore, and AirSpeed make sure to absorb all types of shock while walking and to help you stabilize the load you’re carrying.
Based in Cortez, Colorado, Osprey has over thirty-two years of pack-making experience. This landscape provides all the employees with constant inspiration and a superb testing ground for their packs. However, you’ll find most of the employees, including Osprey founder/head designer Mike Pfotenhauer, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. By being close to the production facilities, Osprey has the ability to ensure fair labor standards and face-to-face relationships with the factories that build their packs, as well as experience cultural enlightenment and the design inspiration of a cosmopolitan city.
I was looking to replace my old North Face Recon pack that I've had for about 10 years that's been slowly falling apart (it still works fine just starting to delaminate and get a little saggy). I actually replaced it with two separate Opsrey 24/7 packs since they fit my needs perfectly- a little outdoorsy without being too technical, a little techy without being too firm/rigid/heavy since I by and large don't commute with a laptop or heavy text books anymore but have the option of carrying them if I need to. Mainly using this bag as a gym/triathlon bag and occasional short tropical getaway luggage. There is one large main compartment that holds a good sized laptop, iPad, documents but also holds a towel, running shoes and cycling shoes without a struggle. There are also two zippered pockets on the outside of the bags next to the water bottle pockets that I keep swim stuff in but probably designed for peripherals and power bricks. They're not super accessible on the fly since they are located under the compression straps (as are the water bottle holders) but not a big deal by and large. Love the stash pocket in front which was my favorite feature on the North Face Recon. Not large enough to hold a bike helmet but will catch some of the stuff that you don't want to open the main pack for. It is a pretty large backpack which is why I am looking at a smaller pack as well (either the Flare or the Comet) for daily to day stuff. Although it actually looks much smaller than it actually is at 34L, not too overwhelming. Wish there was a larger separate pocket (see the Comet) for a wallet (like a girl clutch wallet, not a billfold) without having to put it in the main compartment. I got the Mango Yellow which is not for everyone but I really like it- it's really more of a Dijon Mustard. It's fun without being obnoxious and really, who needs another boring black business bag? Appears to be very solid construction although I have not used it long enough to really attest to this, we'll see if it holds up for 10 years like my TNF. Osprey also apparently has a killer guarantee that if anything breaks, they'll fix or replace it. Can't beat that!

Excellent tote around backpack for travel or in the field. The padded laptop pocket fits my 15" Macbook Pro perfectly an still has plenty of room for a full three day supply of clothes and electronic accessories. I took my brand new pack to Chicago and carried my life on my back traveling on the buses and trains with no hassles whatsoever. The pack has a narrow profile, so it fits all types of body types, male or female. My only critique is that the waistband is a little to thin and flimsy for my liking, it wouldn't be ideal if I were actually hiking, climbing, or running, but I understand most people wouldn't even use it, and in that case it is completely removable. Excellent backpack, I highly recommend it.

I bought this bag about a year ago and use it everyday. I travel regularly for work and frequently for pleasure and, as a light packer, I was able to use this bag as my main bag for a 2 month euro trip (16 countries by train) trip to Canada for a week, a few times to California. The stretchy mesh pockets hold up under stress. The Zippers are solid. I even use it instead of a briefcase for work, I can throw my lunch, iPad, documents, and a change of clothes and be ready for the day. In my experience, it is perfect for 1 night or 60.

I used the specific pack for short/day hikes, outdoor photography, college, and work. Osprey delivered again a very thoughtful design with great materials and plenty of compartments and space. Just remember Quantum is neither a technical pack nor a ballistic cordura military one so if you planning to climb Mt Everest or getting deployed in Afghanistan it's definitely not for you. I always suggest the specific one to friends and absolutely worth more than you will pay for.
