Just got this bag today! I could not be happier! I was afraid that it would be too big because I recently bought the Oakley 3-in-1 Blade and the width on that one was so big, it practically blocked me out from the back as if I could be easily folded and put squarely inside the bag itself. So, with the Metron 25 SM/MD, it is just the right size and super nifty! It is the perfect companion for a metro rider. Straight out of the box, it did not look any bigger than the Under Armour Select Backpack, so not overwhelming at all. The fabric is made out of an extremely durable material so you know this one will last you for some years to come. Also, Osprey has a universal guarantee with no time limit for repair and replacement so you're in good hand. The pocket on the lid is bigger and deeper than I expected, which is great for organization. The straps on the back are well padded for great comfort. The only minor problem I can foresee is the two pockets on each side of the strap, when you're wearing the backpack, ride up to near your chin, so it's a bit annoying but I'll live, I think. You could tighten the straps but that would make it hard to slip them off when you need to. Whatever, your call. It's not a big deal. I can fit my credit cards and metro card in the bigger pocket, which is a huge convenience on the go. You can't fit your phone in either pocket, though, unless you have a tiny phone, like one of those dinosaur phones before the age of smartphones The belt buckles are detachable, which is great because they were getting in the way when I tried to wear the bag. The front zippered pocket is amazing! I have a bi-fold wallet, a paperback book (about 500+ pages - think Game of Thrones), pens, a big hand sanitizer bottle, keys, some other junks and I still have room! The inside is quite spacious. The backpack sleeve is against the hard back with a wide velcro to secure it. Attached to this laptop sleeve is a smaller sleeve that you can use for your Ipad. I can fit my computer charger, my gym clothes, and a pair of sneakers and still have some room left. Next to this stuff, I have my 15" Macbook Pro inside an Incase cover and a 1-subject notebook and there's still room if you want to hoard more stuff. On one side of the bag, there is an almost hidden zippered pocket, it's supposed to be for your U-lock but meh, you can use if for anything, really. It's vertical and runs almost the entire length of the backpack and is about 3 inches or so deep. You can't fit a 32 oz water bottle in it but you can certainly fit a typically sized one. The rain fly is right under the lid and is easy to operate (see the manual) OVERALL: This bag is so great, I'm contemplating getting a second one just in case something happens to this one. I am one happy commuter today! Get this bag! You won't be disappointed! Instead, you'd be wondering how you could have ever commuted all this time without the Metron 25.

Very versatile back pack. I use it primarily for commuting. Comfortable. Lots of adjustments to get comfort right. Lots of accessories. I love the retractable key chain.

I bought this backpack and my life is better. Well, before I had no comparable pack, just measly little backpacks and bags. I'm a grad student commuting half an hour on the subway and walking all over the city and often taking spur of the moment trips out of the city without returning back to apartment, and this pack, size 25, is everything I need. I carry with me many heavy books, food for the day, extra clothes, and this back not only fits it all well, it's completely comfortable. You can tell the bag was also made for trips, walking and traveling far with a sizable load. It's also Four inch wide straps, lots of cushion. Firm, well ventilated back. The 2 in waist strap is a total lifesaver with a heavy load, just made out of that material normally used at the bottom of backpack straps where you adjust it. The important straps are easy to adjust while walking. Four other ones around the back expand or tighten the holdings. Two pockets on the strap for your phone and one with a zip line thing with your keys. There's a big pocket on top of the hood, which has attached inside a big yellow waterproof cover to cover the outside part of the pack. Seems perfect if caught biking in the rain and needed added visibility, or even if you wanted to use it as a head cover instead. Another large pocket on the outside of the pack under the hood. Open it up and there's the cushioned laptop pocket right up against the firm back of the bag, with a pretty intense 3 inch Velcro strap that folds over that I've stopped using. One last pocket on the inside of the back, a big mesh one that can hold along of things and is nice to throw food into with a water bottle and your wallet, just to keep it distinguished from the dark depths of this pack. Disadvantages: None really. It's a full fledged pack so I would say it's pretty big, but I fill it up! I'm a 5'9 F and it's a long, tall back that I can just fit into. Shorter torsos may not like it, but it's still very comfortable around the shoulders. Super nice color, works with everything, muted dark earthish brown but not borking because this nice undertone quality of red clay. Okay, that's enough. Enjoy it!

A lovely backpack with lots of special pockets to contain my precious cargo. Not to mention a cavernous main compartment! Overall a wonderful pack, a few too many straps though.

This is my first bag I've purchased on Zappos. I've purchased with many shoes and as always am well pleased with their fast free delivery. I was looking for a durable do-it-all bag. Something that can withstand all weather. First off Osprey covers their bags with a lifetime guarantee for rips tears. I really thought I'd be able to fit more in this bag. There is a good amount of pockets, the straps are very comfortable on shoulders and there pocket for bike lock which I placed my waist straps in for now. the rain cover is well hidden. The bag seems very strong and durable. I like the color because I can use it for travel at the airport and also for hiking and biking. So far no complaints. I may buy another Osprey bag just for short day trips. This bag is a great weekend trip back pack.
