I spent 2½ weeks traveling in Europe. I did pack light, but this backpack was incredible. I took three t-shirts, two golf shirts, four button down shirts, two pairs of pants, two pairs of shorts, three pairs of shoes, and various toiletries. I fit all of these without a struggle, still leaving a bit of room. The zip off small backpack is a great feature also. This bag will last a lifetime and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Originally I purchased the Farpoint 55 and had a bit of an issue. When using the day-pack in conjunction with the larger pack at the airport, the weight of the day-pack pulled the threads out of the shoulder strap on the larger bag. The day-pack clips to the front part of the larger packs shoulder straps, which is very convenient. Possibly a bad thread, no matter though. Zappos exchanged it no problem, just made sure I kept the original packaging. I could have even sent the bag back to Osprey for no charge I was told. I originally went with the 55 due to fear of carry on size limits. Was absolutely no problem on my trip from NYC to the Caribbean, so I sized up. Since I have received my new Farpoint 70 pack I have traveled by air 8 times. Internationally and domestically, even by train a few times, no issue with carry on size. The pack has held up with not a single issue, I even tested the problem I had previously and it held up just fine. The bag was not loaded to the point where it was about to explode though, might be why I had no problem using it as a carry on. Just make sure it will be able to mush into the box required at the airport. Comfort and the ability to carry on your back, with the day pack hanging in front is really great. I keep all of my important and commonly used items in the day-pack, laptop and passport/wallet. It's all hanging right in-front. It is the only bag I will use for travel when a suit is not required. Grab some packing cubes and you will be set for just about any journey, I must just roll up a suit if I have to next time.

This is a great bag, Very well constructed and it has the almighty guarentee, which means no mater what happens to it they will fix or repair for life. A friend has burnt his bag twice and sent his bag in twice and they fixed it.

I bought two of these for a mission trip with my son to China and Thailand. I travel non-stop for work but have never used backpacks. These were great. A few times we had to check the packs and it was super easy to zip up the straps so they can't get ripped off. Detaching and reattaching the day packs is quick too. The smallest pocket on the day packs is a bit hard to zip and unzip but it wasn't any big deal. I would highly recommend these packs to anyone.

Amazing pack. Purchased for a 42 day euro trip and worked perfectly. The day pack was great for taking along while the main bag was left at hotel/hostel. Bag at 80% capacity was suitable for airline carry on. Not many small compartments, but 2 found in the day pack. Friends traveling with had other Osprey packs. This one was more functional.
