The Faux Wood footbed is not durable. If you nick the footbed it tears. Threw mine out. Would buy if footbed was changed to leather. Footbed also makes your feet hot.

Last year I ordered the Orthaheel flip flops when I started having problems with heel pain (I wear flip flops as house slippers). I longed to have pretty sandals with all that comfort and stability - and the company read my mind! I normally wear an 8 wide, but because every strap has velcro closure, I have the perfect fit with these shoes. The only minus is that because my foot is so wide, the decorative buckle is not in the center of my foot. Minor drawback I'm more than willing to live with considering these shoes are so pretty and so comfortable. The older I get, the more I need practical, comfortable, orthotic shoes. But I'm still crave stylish footware. These shoes fit the bill.

I have several pairs of Orthaheel sandals now and I love them! I like that they are making more styles, too. The Layla has the necessary sole support for those of us who suffer from plantar fasciitis but the new style is very cute and comfortable. The adjustable straps make for a custom fit, too. I would have liked for the description to say if the metal "loop" was gold or silver (it is gold in the brown and I would have preferred silver) but other than that, this is a great and fashionable sandal. Thanks Orthaheel -- and Zappos for carrying more styles of Orthaheel!

I have ordered several pairs of Orthaheels all were just what I wanted until this pair. They are very "clunky" looking on my feet and make my size 6 feet look about a size or two bigger. The velcro straps at the rear of the sandal were way too long and stuck out. They did not lay flat as in the picture. These are the only Orthaheels that looked drastically different than the picture. The only reason that I'm keeping them is they have the usual orthotic feel, which makes for better walking. However, I did take my pair to a shoe repair shop and had the back strap aligned and glued together evenly. I cannot recommend these shoes.

These are very comfortable from the first time I wore them. It is best to wear them for short periods of time at first, as Orthoheel recommends. Wearing them too long the first time you wear them may leave you with sore legs!

    of New Styles!

Add This Brand to My Favorites
Developed by Australian podiatrist Phillip Vasyli, Orthaheel® footwear is designed to help restore the natural foot function and well-being with every step. Our feet were designed to walk on soft, natural surfaces like soil and sand. Yet today we spend most of our time standing, walking and running on unnatural, hard surfaces. Unnatural surfaces force the feet to roll over to gain contact with the ground, which flattens the arches. The flattening of the arch can disrupt normal knee function and hip alignment.

This loss of our "footprint" has resulted in a variety of pain and injuries affecting not just the feet, but the entire body. The Orthaheel mission is to help people reclaim their natural alignment to enable their feet, ankles and knees to function as they naturally would. With men’s and women’s silhouettes ranging from flip-flops, slides, slippers to even lace-up sneakers, Orthaheel offers an array of styles that will keep you comfortable and aligned on any adventure you choose.

I have sciatica and thought I'd try these shoes to see if they'd help. Zappos has such great customer service, I knew there was no risk if they didn't work out for me. Although not cured, I do feel like I have less trouble with lower back pain and leg issues when I wear these slides. This shoe only comes in medium width, but with the adjustable straps I'm able to accommodate my wider foot and get a comfortable custom fit. The orthotic sole does take a little getting used to at first, but I now prefer these slides to my other sandals.

While I don't own a pair of these slides I am looking forward to. Plantar Facitis brought me to purchasing several pair upon a doctor's recommendation. They are absolutely wonderful. I also purchased, while pricey, the cross over slippers in an animal design. Again super comfortable. Now I have an infected foot which is slowly healing however I need a pair of shoes that will adjust for me right now to accommodate this swollen foot. I am now having to wear compression hose for a time until the swelling goes down and these shoes appear to accommodate this need and still be stylish. I cannot grade the show at this time but will after I purchase them.

These are pretty shoes that do not require me to use my RX orthotic insert! I have high arches and need support to lessen foot pain. The arch is comfortable. The adjustable straps hold my feet in place so the arch support is positioned correctly. I have the Layla in the chrome metallic with silver ring between the straps. It is a great color with blue jeans. The Velcro adjustable straps look a little clunky and hang a bit over the edge of the shoes. Because the Velcro is not there to hold the straps together the end sticks up a bit. That is acceptable for cute comfortable shoes at a decent price.

I finally found a sandal that I don't have to add arch supports to! I have plantar fasciitis and hate summer. I have to alter all my shoes and most of the time the added arch supports aren't the same color as the shoes, so look funny. I'm so excited about being fashionable and feeling comfort all day. I haven't worn these but inside for a short time but I'm sure they will be awesome this summer! I have a narrow foot so the velcro is nice, for a snug fit. They can be either casual or dressy, due to the bit of silver decoration.

Beautiful sandal! The gold is light, like a champagne. Fully adjustable. The only thing that bothered me was the high arch - it seemed to fall in the "wrong place" on my foot and, therefore, wasn't comfortable.

Orthoheel is very comfortable. I would not compare the comfort to Fitflops, however, they have arch support, a deep heel bed, and remove pressure points. The sandal is not at all padded. If you have any foot problems I would recommend this sandal for times when you are not doing a lot of walking. I need cushioning for that.

Brands I'd also recommend: I highly recommend Fitflops. I wear their sandals or boots every day. I live in this brand. Heavenly comfort and excellent support. Takes pressure off every spot on your foot. Nice wide toebed.

This is my third pair of Orthaheel sandals and I love them -- no more knee pain! I have wide feet and the adjustable straps make for a very comfortable fit. I would prefer a more cushioned foot bed, but I guess you can't have everything. Note to first time buyers: Orthaheel sandals/shoes take some getting used to -- several weeks of getting used to -- but the journey is so worth it!

Worth every penny! I have a hard time finding the right shoes with my history of plantar fascitis. This shoe was perfect, adjusted to it immediately while walking all over Las Vegas. Like the other reviewers said, the Velcro straps come down so far that they stick out a little bit on the sides. The color is really pretty and the arch support and deep heel cup are better than any other shoe, except Earthies and Superfeet, which are equal. But Earthies are soft and cushiony where Orthaheels are hard. But even hard, they help with this terrible plantar fasciitis. I sent these back because they did not look as good on me as the Cecilia, but they runs so small/short that they do not make them long enough for me, which is a total bummer. I wish they would. And Zappos makes shoe shopping that is usually a pain for me a pleasure. I hate going all over town in and out of the hot car, wasting time and gas, trying on shoes because the stores do not carry my size. I love that Zappos does and they make it so easy to order and return. When I order from any other shoe company, it becomes glaringly apparent that they are not anywhere near as good as Zappos. Their return process is so cumbersome and such a drag. Filling out little stupid forms and having to write my credit card information on a paper and mail it to do an exchange. Having to pay shipping. A total drag! I will never buy from anywhere but Zappos. They are excellent and have processes and customer service and kindness down to a science. Thank you!

Brands I'd also recommend: Earthies Viera Too (but footbed fabric is too loose when I get size 11 to get the length right), Naot, Born (styles with a medium heel have more arch support than the flats), Superfeet has great arch support & heel cup but no cushion, Orthaheel great arch support & heel cup but no cushion except for Cecilia that runs VERY small

Orthaheel buyers, the Yasmin and Aurora have much better workmanship, though they really fit only an A or B width. If you are a C or D width, the Talia, Tide and Layla will fit you much better. Now about this Layla, they're seventy-five dollar shoes with sloppy quality. Out of the box not even on my foot, the metal ring sits in a different place on the left shoe than the right. The arch support and foot bed have a patent; still no excuse for poor quality work at this high price.
