As the Japanese people recovered from the second world war and began to appreciate the benefits of sports, Onitsuka Tiger™ shoes were on their feet. The first basketball shoes in Japan had a tiger face design on the arch of the foot and this became Onitsuka's trademark. In the 1960's, Onitsuka Tiger™ shoes were worn not only by the Japanese, but also by top foreign athletes.
In 2001, ASICS America Corporation quietly resurrected the Onitsuka Tiger™ brand with original models of Onitsuka shoes and Onitsuka clothing updated in today's flavorful colors. Over the past few years, the Onitsuka Tiger™ brand has been enjoying a growing number of new, dedicated shoe followers along with a steady desire for Onitsuka clothing and Onitsuka bags, realized today on Zappos.com. Through sometimes secretive grassroots marketing efforts, ASICS® has been able to spread this word about this authentic comeback for Onitsuka Tiger™.
Now that the secret is out... Onitsuka Tiger™ is a growing and highly sought after brand with its ever-growing lineup of Onitsuka Tiger™ shoes, Onitsuka Tiger™ clothing and Onitsuka Tiger™ bags. There are more Onitsuka Tiger™ mens´s and Onitsuka Tiger™ women´s models just sitting in the ASICS® vault waiting to be re-released. The future is what this retro brand has to look forward to. Because ASICS® knows that there are people out there who don't need to run fast...they just want to look good.

These shoes are fantastic. The toe box is refreshingly generous - sometimes I find myself wiggling my toes, just because I can! For those on the barefoot/minimalist bandwagon, these are likely to be right up your alley. For those who need support, plan on adding one (I really like the ones New Balance makes). I call these super comfy because nothing rubs, pinches, or crowds. That said, my feet tire easily given the lack of cushioning in the sole. The lightweight fabric is nice for warmer months but probably will feel less ideal come winter. I think they look nice as well.

I chose these as I wasn't a fan of the woman's color options. I looked at other sites and they seem to be unisex so I ordered them. They are awesome! Light weight, the fabric is very light and soft and the bottoms are cushy. Not sure if I'm a fan of the option to tuck down and wear back less, I like them as slip ons. The back strips are interesting. Have been wearing for several weeks right out of the box no issues. Ordered equivalent to my size in my other Asics running shoes so I'd say true to size. Read a review under the white women's design which said they were a bit narrow. These are not, would say medium and same as my running shoes. I don't find them to be wide like a truly man's sneaker. Great for Summer! Oh, and best part for me anyway is the elastic in the tongue does not dig in on your foot, it's almost completely hidden by the fabric of the tongue. I had an old pair of lace less Chuck Taylor's that were awful with the elastic, but these are made much better!

I bought these to replace my worn out Sanuk shoes and LOVE these! They fit so well, have better cushioning than other similar shoes, and look amazing. The pictures make the shoes look a little big/boxy and I was afraid they might be, but they're not at all.
I'd also recommend: Sanuk

I love the look of these shoes, and they are extremely light weight. The upper is made of cloth. However, these shoes were nearly impossible to get on. Because they are slip-ons, I would have thought the back of the shoes had a little give, but they do not. Ultimately, I had to get a shoe horn to get the shoes on my feet. And, once they were on, they actually fit a little big. There is no way that I am using a shoe horn to get tennis shoes on. You could probably break these in over time, but I want tennis shoes that I do not have to struggle to put on. So, these are getting returned. Too bad, because I really love the look. They are so cute.
