As the Japanese people recovered from the second world war and began to appreciate the benefits of sports, Onitsuka Tiger™ shoes were on their feet. The first basketball shoes in Japan had a tiger face design on the arch of the foot and this became Onitsuka's trademark. In the 1960's, Onitsuka Tiger™ shoes were worn not only by the Japanese, but also by top foreign athletes.
In 2001, ASICS America Corporation quietly resurrected the Onitsuka Tiger™ brand with original models of Onitsuka shoes and Onitsuka clothing updated in today's flavorful colors. Over the past few years, the Onitsuka Tiger™ brand has been enjoying a growing number of new, dedicated shoe followers along with a steady desire for Onitsuka clothing and Onitsuka bags, realized today on Zappos.com. Through sometimes secretive grassroots marketing efforts, ASICS® has been able to spread this word about this authentic comeback for Onitsuka Tiger™.
Now that the secret is out... Onitsuka Tiger™ is a growing and highly sought after brand with its ever-growing lineup of Onitsuka Tiger™ shoes, Onitsuka Tiger™ clothing and Onitsuka Tiger™ bags. There are more Onitsuka Tiger™ mens´s and Onitsuka Tiger™ women´s models just sitting in the ASICS® vault waiting to be re-released. The future is what this retro brand has to look forward to. Because ASICS® knows that there are people out there who don't need to run fast...they just want to look good.

These are very long. I normally wear a 6.5 but these had a full inch in the toe. The width was normal, though, so I'm afraid to size down, as they might be too narrow. Too bad, they are super cute.

I wear sneakers a lot on the job, but I'm always looking for shoes that don't look totally athletic and could be worn with a pair of chinos in a pinch. I knew these Tigers would fit the bill but I balked at paying 80 bucks for a low-tech running shoe. Well, Zappos dropped the price and I bit. They're exactly what I'd hoped for -- cute and understated, esp. in the black (more like navy)/elderberry color. I *love* that they run long, because a size 11 fits easily... I usually need a 12 in more modern/technical running shoes. These shoes are also a good pick if your foot is narrow at the heel like mine is (though they still offer room for my comparatively wide forefoot). Of course, there's not much arch support, but I don't expect that in a casual shoe.- I can always put on my Asics 2170s if I'm doing more serious exercise.
I'd also recommend: Hush Puppies, Merrell, Asics, Naot

I agree with the other lady that said that the shoe is extremely long. The colors were cute but I found the inside of the shoe somewhat scratchy compared to the Tiger Serrano, which I absolutely loved and were true to size.

I bought these for my daughter -- they remind me of retro style shoes but the colors are very current to this year's fashions. I wish that there was more padding in the area around the upper ankle, but overall it is a very nice shoe!

I just got these for a trip to Italy, they fit perfectly and I cannot wait to see if they can hold up for the amount of walking that we will be doing.
