I bought this in brass and absolutely love it! I ordered a size 8 and fits true to size. The 13 inch height is perfect for my calves. The 1.5 inch heel is the perfect height for lots of walking. I will be ordering many more OLD GRINGO boots.

After years of searching, I finally found these: the perfect cowboy boots. I bought them in Brass, and they're a little darker than in the picture. I generally wear a 7.5, and these run true to size . . . but if you're really in between sizes, I would move down. The arch support is right on the money (not sure why the other reviewer said there was none). There is no pinch in the pointed toe. The circumference at the ankle is roomy enough for comfortable movement (but it did take a few hours to break in the seam where the top of the foot meets the shaft). The circumference at the leg opening is for slender to average calves only. You can tuck skinny jeans or jeggings into them, but I plan to wear them mostly with skirts; cords would look terrible. The leather smelled so good I could've eaten it, and I think it's cool how the pull tabs look like musical notes. The embroidery is intricate and well detailed. The heel gives you a little height without any discomfort. One minus is that there is zero traction on the sole, so they're slippery at first. I was very intimidated by the idea of spending this much money, but it was totally worth it for something this cool and comfy that I'll have forever. Hope this review answers some questions for you.

About Old Gringo
Founders Yan Ferry and Ernie Tarut decided to combine Yan’s bootmaking and design skill with Ernie’s years of experience in leather manufacturing to create boots of superior style and quality. Thus Old Gringo was born. The first Old Gringo factory opened in 2000 with a collection of original, vintage and retro styles. These styles bridged the gap between western style and pure fashion.
Every Old Gringo boot goes through one hundred-ten individual steps, performed by skilled craftsman. This is a very time-intensive process, but the consistent application of these skills is required to make a superior quality boot. Old Gringo produces and tans their own leathers in colors, textures and finishes to meet the meticulous demands of their designers. After carefully selecting the finest grade of leather, the leathers undergo a detailed tanning process. Each of the next steps, from cutting the upper materials to assembling the insoles and outsoles are critical in the construction of the perfect boot.
