Founders Yan Ferry and Ernie Tarut decided to combine Yan’s bootmaking and design skill with Ernie’s years of experience in leather manufacturing to create boots of superior style and quality. Thus Old Gringo was born. The first Old Gringo factory opened in 2000 with a collection of original, vintage and retro styles. These styles bridged the gap between western style and pure fashion.
Every Old Gringo boot goes through one hundred-ten individual steps, performed by skilled craftsman. This is a very time-intensive process, but the consistent application of these skills is required to make a superior quality boot. Old Gringo produces and tans their own leathers in colors, textures and finishes to meet the meticulous demands of their designers. After carefully selecting the finest grade of leather, the leathers undergo a detailed tanning process. Each of the next steps, from cutting the upper materials to assembling the insoles and outsoles are critical in the construction of the perfect boot.

I was so excited when this pair speedily arrived, didn't know how Zappos does it. I ordered on Sunday and they arrived on Tuesday. Then, I was very disappointed because the boots were cut way too small (narrow) around the ankle area where you need the room to push your feet in. Oh, how I tried and tried to get my feet through that narrow ankles and ended up with a big blister! Now, the fate of this gorgeous pair was no other but going back to Zappos. I ordered another gorgeous fancy pair, Lee Ann, they fitted perfectly, although, they cost me a lot more but that would be another review. I love Old Gringo boots and love Zappos even more for their generous return policy.

Definitely buy a half size smaller. I wear a 9 most of the time and a 9 1/2 some of the time. Had to return the size 9 I bought and get an 8 1/2, but they are awesome! Get tons of compliments on them!

LOVE THESE BOOTS! This is my first pair of Old Gringo Boots, and these boots are beautiful!! I normally wear a 7 1/2 and I got the 7 and still have plenty of room. Very comfortable.

Definitely Hot! Great boot; however, if you have an average width foot you can definitely go a half size down from usual otherwise it will feel big and your heel will slide up and down (unless you like wearing a thick sock). The heel height and pointed toe are perfect and they go with just about anything. These are definitely unique and not overly flashy.
I'd also recommend: Franco Sarto , Type Z , Guess boots

These are awesome boots but I have to say the service with Zappos is amazing! Very prompt, very professional. Would recommend my friends to use this site.
