I have had these shoes a couple of years. I have used them for day hikes in different conditions and just getting around sometimes in the winter. They've been very comfortable and waterproof all year round. I really like the fit. The toe is roomy but they don't feel too big anywhere. The heel is a good fit. I bought them in 7's and got another pair in 7.5 that is a better fit for hiking. I wear a 7.5 in Keens, too.
Brands I'd also recommend: Ryka sneakers

Was looking for a cold weather, waterproof hiker that I could wear in milder weather, but that would keep my feet relatively warm in 20 degree weather while walking the dog. I needed great traction for icy/snowy sidewalks. These Oboz work great! I love 'em. And they're rugged cute, too! Read somewhere to order half a size larger than normal. I wear 8.5 but got a 9 and they fit fine with a thick athletic sock.

Love the shoe! Haven't used it yet on trails but very comfortable and has just the rugged look I like and in a cool color. only complaint is that while the company promotes giving to the environment...the shoes are made in china. Understand it but wish they were made in the USA.

Great shoe - I've worn them almost everyday since I got them. They do need a bit of breaking in and definitely feel 1/2 size small, especially if you prefer thicker socks. Not sure how waterproof they are, but support and traction are excellent. Also, I LOVE the colors!

1/2 size too small, but great otherwise - I love Oboz and these boots are great. They are definitely a 1/2 size smaller and you need to order 1/2 size larger. These are wonderful for trail hiking, grocery shopping, and wear all the time kind of shoe. I wrote to Oboz and told them I wanted a one color shoe in this style, like black or brown leather so that the shoe can be worn with more than just jeans. They said they are considering that, but are a new company and need to establish a market. So, buy lots of Oboz and soon there will be more variety.
Brands I'd also recommend: None; no other shoes fit women's feet as well as Oboz.

About Oboz
Combine the words "outside" and "Bozeman" and you´ve got "Oboz". Moreover, you've got something that speaks volumes about the company and their priorities. Outside is where their heads are, dreaming of the next peak to climb or river to float. And Bozeman, Montana is where they live, play, and of course, work on making Oboz the best shoes out there. Bozeman is one of the great places to enjoy and be inspired by the outdoors. Oboz is not just two words combined, but a way of thinking, living and doing that defines the company, the shoes and the people who wear them.
The phrase "True to the Trail" is the motto at Oboz. Oboz shoes are designed to be used on the trail to help people get into the wilderness - shoes for trail running, hiking, backpacking, approaching crags, scrambling and general exploration of wild places. The folks at Oboz are passionate about these activities. When they aren't talking about shoes at the office, they’re probably discussing the snow conditions up at Bridger Bowl or their latest adventure on their bikes. Looking to protect their favorite getaways, Oboz tries to minimize their carbon footprint and support organizations and causes that improve the state of the environment.

Great hiker - Love this shoe. It is taking a bit longer than I expected to break it in. Looks good, has great support.

Yes, feels a half size smaller. I ordered a 6 when I generally wear a 5 1/2 and still they seemed a tad short, especially if going downhill. I loved the look and the great tread and would order a 6 1/2 if they had it.

I have a damaged nerve in my foot due to bad fitting ski boots. I do best with Earth shoes. The negative heel concept takes the pressure off of my toe area. I wasn't able to get an Earth hiker so I had to find something else. Although these shoes are not perfect for me, they are working out okay. Plenty of room in the toe box...too much room in the heel for my foot, but I don't seem to be feeling the pain of the damaged nerve which is the biggest issue for me. I took them for a hike and was pleased with how they felt. Would like more arch support. I felt that they were true to size. I was a little worried that I would order my size then have to exchange them for a 1/2 size larger. In my case that didn't happen. Everybody's feet are different and trying to find a good fit has never been easy for me. When I found Earth shoes I felt blessed. Unfortunately I heard that earth discontinued their hiker. I wish that they'd bring it back...that would be the ticket for my poor feet.
