Oakley does it again! If you are like me, then only the best will do. Oakley Gascan provides excellent eye coverage as well as providing 100% UV (ABC) protection. I believe this is a must due to all the eye problems that can result from sun exposure. A lot of people might think that it's crazy to spend more than 10 dollars on a pair of sunglasses, but you get what you pay for, seriously. Do yourself a favor and stroll on down to the local mall and try on a pair of these bad boys. For less than the price of a coffee a day for a year, you could get awesome eye protection for a lifetime...
Brands I'd also recommend: Kaenon, Maui Jim, Smith, Spy Optics

Great glasses for summertime - This was my second pair of Oakley Gascans. I scratched the other pair and liked them so much I replaced them with identical. The fit is a little tight over the top of ears, but I like the look very much. Gives nice protection of side of eyes and face against sun.

Oakley's Polarized Gascan - This was my first sunglass purchase without ever trying them on - what a risk considering my round head. I bought these sunglasses primarily for the look assuming that Oakley would deliver a great product. They sure did! It's been a LONG time since I've had polarized glasses, and boy what a difference. With these Gascan's, light doesn't even enter through the top, bottom or sides of your eyes - complete blockage. You still have your range of sight and the polarized lenses only make it that much better to see! For a round face, these are great - the only problem I have is a small pinching around my temple after extended use, but you may not experience that (depends on your head of course). Lastly, the fact that people can't see your eyes AT ALL is also very cool. Overall, GREAT buy. As another reviewer pointed out, they DO look a little plastic-y for the price, but you forget once you put them on because they look great & stylish.

Great pair of sun glasses! I got these Gascans over a year ago and they are terrific! I like my sun glasses to cover my eyes and block out the light from the sides and the top and these definitely do it. They fit just right not too loose or too snug but enough that over the weekend at the beach, I tanned around the glasses and have these untanned lines where my glasses were. They are also good for fishing, you can see below the surface of the water a few feet. The polarizing cuts out the glare. I am going to get some more, probably in a different color. A+++

Poor peripheral vision - These look hot on my husband, especially in the flat black color, but the thick sides don't allow for good peripheral vision, so he still wears his smoke-colored Monster Dogs for work and sports.

Very pleased with my Oakley Polarized Gascans - I've always bought cheap sunglasses until a friend who is a photographer and fanatic about optics suggested I try something better. I don't know if I'm more sensitive to light than other people, but I tend to get uncomfortable on sunny days because I'm always squinting. These make being out in the sun much more enjoyable. I was skeptical about the polarization, but after wearing them, I saw that it is not just a gimmick in order to charge a higher price. It really helps cut down the glare as promised. One nice surprise is that I am able to recognize more detail at greater distances than when using my cheap sunglasses. Another plus is that these do not feel as heavy as sunglasses with glass lenses. If I had to suggest something to improve about the Gascans, it would be to add a spring in the hinges that allows the sides to bend farther and feel tighter while wearing them up on my forehead when I'm in the shade. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and Zappos had them at a very good price.

Best all around glasses ever - I have owned these for two years, and bought them here. I wasn't sure how well I'd like them but I do. Vision is good never had an issue. I drive a tractor trailer in the winter and am a wildland firefighter in the summer, and have never had issue in either field. My brother has even bought a pair. So don't listen to people about the peripheral vision loss.

So far so good - I have only had these for about a month and so far they've been the best I ever had, I know what you might be thinking (expensive) well they are, but if you want something good that’s the price you have to pay. Overall the glasses look and feel awesome. I have no complaints whatsoever.

Oakley Gascans Rock! These were purchased for my husband who is 54 years old and he looks great in them! The fit and comfort are great as well! I think polarized lenses are the only type of sunglasses to have, very clear vision! Five stars!

Can't say I like them. I love the style but the polarized lenses were doing some strange things. It made the window tint in my car and any other car look like rainbows so when you look through the window everything was well rainbowed, the LED gauges in my car looked odd and vanished at times. I couldn't have them on while using my cell phone because the display was illegible. Strange indeed. I'm certainly disappointed because I really wanted to like these.

I really love these sun glasses. I have had mine for about 2 years. Polarized is the way to go, don't settle for anything less. Last summer I lost them in the Snake River while I was white water rafting. Invest in Croakies or some kind of eyewear retaining product. I am going to buy another pair! I can't live without them.

I bought the Oakley Gascans and had prescription lenses put in them. I also had them polarized. They are very nice glasses, and they do a good job of protecting your eyes from sun light from above and the sides. I bought these and a pair of Maui Jim Peahi's on the same day. I love them both, but I must admit I like the "feel" of the MJ's better. They have like a silicon coating on the frames, whereas the Oakley's are kind of slippery. Over all I do love the Oakleys and will use them for at least a couple years.
Brands I'd also recommend: Maui Jim, Ray Bans and Revo

These are great glasses overall, the polarized lenses are very nice. I had to return them because they were too tight on my head. After an hour or two wearing them they started to give me a headache. Maybe I have a big head, my hat size is 7 1/2. Too bad because I really wanted to keep these because they are great looking glasses with the best lenses.

The sunglasses look good, are well constructed, and they work. I certainly have appreciated them on my morning walks in Harare (Zimbabwe), and on my early morning bike outings back home in Massachusetts. (And yes, polarized lenses make it sometimes difficult to read your phone or your digital watch. After all, that's the point.)
