I wear heavy orthotics and these shoes accommodated them easily. I like the Doc Martin-look and probably this pair comes closest to a "poor person's Doc Martins!"

These shoes are great for anyone on their feet all day. Especially in the food industry. They say they are non slip & they right. Where I work it's always wet & these shoes save me every time! They're not much to look at but sometimes neither are the customers. Zappos is the all around best!

I looked forward to the receipt of these with much anticipation. Looking for the comfort I thought they would afford. I wore them around my house on my day off and was nearly in tears by the end of the day. Sorry, these were not the comfort I was seeking.
Brands I'd also recommend: If you have painful feet like I do...the only shoe that has afforded me any relief has been the BrooksGTS

Comfortable Work Shoe - These shoes are great; they are nice and light for the warmer weather. I sometimes work a 16 hour workday...They never had to be broken in...They were so comfortable from day 1...

A Wonderful Shoe to Step In. I am currently a RN and a Licensed Massage Therapist. I also was performed a wait staff and bartender services through nursing school. The Nursemate "Louise" shoes were not only comfortable, but were skid proof and very cushiony with great feeling in the arch support area. I have three pairs that I rotated every day and have had them for over four years. I highly recommend this shoe to anyone who is working constantly on their feet. Thank you Nursemate!!!! This is a wonderful shoe!!!

These shoes are heavenly - I received these shoes and from then on my feet haven't hurt any more. The skid resistant soles are great and I am a restaurant manager so I am on my feel long hours. Everything else I have tried just hasn’t been able to provide comfort for 10 to 12 hours per day. Plenty of toe room no rubbing. The insole is very supportive. Buy these you will fall in love with them.
Brands I'd also recommend: Franco Sarto Bocco's are also a great shoe for daily wear.

These are the best. It took 3 times to get my right fit but there was no problem returning or anything. After wearing these for a few days, it was like wearing bedroom slippers but with support. They are sooooo comfortable. Have deformed feet. RA & when younger had one squashed ---- so I do have a problem finding something that's even halfway comfortable. And these are the greatest. I think they do run about a 1/2 size small in length. Or maybe it's just my feet. They don't look bad either.

This has great cushion in the heel, but could use some more at the ball of the foot. I wear them on marble flooring and have found them great for about the first 6 hours, after that the toes start to feel uncomfortable.

My only complaint about this shoe is that the heel was slightly higher than the other style of Nursemates that I had before and a little uncomfortable for me. Zappos is out of the other style and I hope they haven't been discontinued!

I liked these shoes fairly well in 9 1/2 M. They have nice tread which looks like it would be long wearing and secure on wet surfaces. But the heel felt loose at the top. It just didn’t wrap around my foot the way an oxford should and I could tell it would get looser over time. I can’t return them for a 9 because that would squeeze the toes. The heel problem may not exist in other sizes, and these might work if you’re looking for walking shoes with style that’s dressy-casual enough to wear to the office. Sorry Zappos, I love you, but these are coming back. I’m just a picky black oxford shopper.

I am on my feet quite a bit of the day whether I'm walking or just standing a lot and am always looking for comfort in shoes. I needed a black pair of shoes with some support and cushion and decided to try a pair of Nurse Mates shoes. I am very satisfied with them and they seem to be true to size. I tried a slip on also, but they ran very large in size so I returned them for an oxford instead.
Brands I'd also recommend: Eastland oxfords have been very comfortable and hold up too!

Louise are okay for awhile - This is my second pair of Louise. They feel good at first. But after several months of use they hurt my feet. I would have to say they don't have enough arch support for me. However you are able to walk right into them. If someone has a pair that has better arch support please let me know. Thanks.

These shoes are comfortable but not great for long periods of time, such as longer than five hours of standing and walking. A bit on the homely looking side but practical and good value for the price.

No Arch Support - This shoe looks great, as most "no slip" shoes aren't that stylish. HOWEVER, this shoe is awful! I am on my feet for less than 8 hours, and my feet HURT. There is absolutely NO ARCH SUPPORT! I would not recommend this shoe. I will see if some inserts will help with this problem, but I haven't tried them yet...

Not really the best choise for nurses - This shoe isn't bad, but it's really not all that great. I think a good pair of athletic shoes would be far more comfy for long hours on the feet than these shoes are. I've never had foot arch issues, but after walking around on these for several hours my arches ached. Still the next day, my arches ached. I probably won't buy the nurse mates brand again, I'll stick with cross-trainer or running type athletic shoes that most of the other nurses wear.
Brands I'd also recommend: Dansko or Born.

Runs 1/2 size large - These shoes have that spongy sole like the Quark Quarky, and the insole is the same. However, the back of the shoe rubs at the rim (why do shoemakers make two pointy peaks at the back of the shoe???!!!). Also, it runs big. Alas, I wanted the shoe to work...Maybe a second generation of the same style will work better...
Brands I'd also recommend: quarky quark, dansko, squishy soft shoes for 12 hr shifts

I didn't buy these from Zappos. I got them because they worked with my orthotic and they were non-slip. They really are non-slip, but are horrible otherwise. After wearing them for one shift (with my custom orthotic), my feet were in terrible pain, and when I went to bed I kept waking up with cramps in my feet. I wish I had never bought them. I'm considering contacting NurseMates directly about this really uncomfortable shoe. And it's really ugly too. Do not buy!
