My daughter is 56 inches and the large shin guard does not cover her shin properly. The ankle guard is ridiculously tight as well and she could not get it on by herself

Great quality and will do the job for my son's first season of Soccer late this summer, he is 5 for anyone needing a age to judge for size. They fit him well and are comfortable according to him. I use to play/coach soccer and for this age any guard will do as they are hard to come by for this age. Remember to just let them have fun at this age!
Brands I'd also recommend: For 5 years old anything will work

My son is 5 and we purchased the small and it seems to fit fine. He states they are comfortable. Follow the size chart recommendation and you can't go wrong. Don't buy the next size up to get more seasons out of them as then they are uncomfortable. I use to play and coach and hate to see parents that buy to make sure they will fit next season. They kids do nothing but complain then. Let them have fun and be comfortable parents!
Brands I'd also recommend: Any as long as they fit and function well

Be warned - this product runs very, very small. I purchased a size small for my four year old son, and they didn't fit him or his two year old brother, neither of whom are big for their age. If you order this, order up at least one size - or better yet, order a different brand. Do not recommend.
