This bag is built very well. I was looking for a duffel bag that was a little bigger than your average duffel bag, and this is definitely bigger than your average duffel. It's actually a really big bag, if your looking for an average size bag I suggest getting the medium. The bag is built well and has plenty of room. To give you an idea of how big, I sat four pair of basketball sneakers, side by side, with the toes facing the long side of the duffel bag and they all fit with no problem, with plenty of room left on the top of the shoes for a gym outfit for each pair of shoes. Keep in mind the bag also has side pockets. I bought the bag to use as a carry on when traveling, and while the airlines did not complain, the bag is too big for a carry on. If it had been full I would have had a problem fitting it in the overhead compartment. The shoulder strap is also very comfortable. Overall the bag is great if you are looking for a bag that is well built, styled nice, and has PLENTY of room. This bag is probably more suited to the person that carries more than the average person to the gym.
