I really like these retro shoes. I bought the black and white for my daughter in a size 6 last fall and she loved them. They are very lightweight. Some of the newer designs have heavy toes, like the Chuck Taylors, which I love, but even I trip on the toes due to the heavy front loaded rubber. These don't. I got these pink and white for my 6 year old niece and seh loved them so much she slept with them on her feet the first night.
Brands I'd also recommend: Gianni Bini, Antonio Melani, childrens Teva sandals, Born boots

These are great sneakers and high quality. We ordered a size 10.5 for my 5 1/2 year old, and they fit perfectly - true to size. They're very padded and soft inside, and they look great on - super comfy. I agree with another reviewer about the benefit of these shoes having a less bulky toe - my daughter can run around in these with no tripping or stumbling.
