Incredibly lightweight and smooth. Great inner lining, I have had zero chafing problem even after they get wet. The only issue is they don't dry very quickly after becoming saturated.

Light and fast running is all about having light and fast gear. However, there are limits to this rule. In a small, the fundamentals reveal a bit too much of the man over 5'6.
Brands I'd also recommend: patagonia

Super light. Excellent mobility. First pair of actual "running" shorts. I usually work out in longer, heavier mesh shorts. I'm doing the Tough Mudder in CO and wanted something that wouldn't slow me down. I think these'll do the trick.

I had to return these because of the fit. While I've worn split shorts before, these have a noticeable angle from the inner-thigh to the outer thigh. In other words, the interior thigh hem seems at least an inch shorter than the exterior one, which is made worse by the splits. This creates a very strong V shape in the front that I found awkward. The shorts are high quality, well-made and nice fabrics. They just look very strange on my body.
Brands I'd also recommend: asics, new balance, adidas, brooks

These are exactly what I wanted. I am only 5'7" and hate big and baggy shorts they simply make no sense to me at all. These are split short shorts the kind I usually see on triatheletes. These have a great liner, tie, and a back inside pocket at the cheapest price.

What's not visible on the pictures is that the "split" on the sides goes almost all the way up to the waist of the shorts. So tread carefully while running in these, they might be revealing a bit too much. Other than that - super comfortable, everything that you'd expect from Nike. I'd buy it again.
