I bought these shoes because I need shoes with high arches that can tolerate running in many terrains for work and pleasure, all the while keeping my feet from falling apart during my current 18+ hour work days. They were largely successful. I needed to pick up some soft insoles for around $6 at a local box store to tolerate being on the heels all day, but aside from that these have been perfect. They grip well on everything from mud to logs to stairs, and don't feel like cleats when walking on flat surfaces. I highly recommend for the randomly active.
