Every year I'm on the lookout for weather proof shoes for my job. I'm a videographer who frequently treks through many different terrains from thoroughbred farms to corporate gigs. Usually on my feet for most of the day carrying heavy gear so I need a shoe that keeps my feet dry and comfy enough to stand, or run in for hours. I usually end up buying hiking shoes like Vasque, Asolo, or Salomon but never got the cushion I was needing. In fact, I purchased a pair of Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 Gore-Tex from Zappos and found that they had areas pressing on the sides of my feet which were too uncomfortable to endure the break-in time. Thanks to Zappos, returns are VERY simple. I'm 6ft tall, weigh 180 and have normal to narrow feet with a high arch. The second I laced up the Nike Air Pegasus+ 29 GTX and stood up, I knew I had found my waterproof shoe for all seasons. Usually at the end of the day, I can't wait to kick off my shoes. With the Pegasus, I sometimes leave them on half the night (THEY'RE THAT COMFY!). My only grip is they're LOUD. The tread is very aggressive with horizontal grooves where water can hide. This isn't Nike's fault. They're intended to have sticky tread. Just avoid stepping in water puddles in parking lots before walking on smooth surfaces indoors. Squeak, squeak, squeak!

Gortex is great for winter jogging; waterproof and more insulating than regular running shoes. Highly recommended for outdoor winter joggers.

Comfy and keep your feet dry. Great traction. Definitely wide for a Nike shoe. The 28's were narrow compared to these. I like these better.

Extremely well made and though no snow yet, I don't see myself slipping at all this winter with these!

This is a very good shoe for running in the not so pleasant weather. I purchased a pair of these shoes in the Nike Store in Portland OR and have been impressed with them for the 2.5 weeks that I have been wearing them. Just went running today through Washington D.C. (post-Tropical Storm Sandy) and was pleased with how they stayed dry in spite of the massive puddles all over the city. I would recommend this shoe for outdoor running in wet weather and also to use for light hiking. If I do not run in this pair of shoes I run in the very lightweight Nike LunarSpeed lite that I purchased from Zappos.
I'd also recommend: Nike
