  • Fall into a cadence all your own by lacing into the Kismet from Newton® Running.
  • Stability shoe designed for the overpronator.
  • Adjusting to Newton running shoes will depend upon several factors including: your current running shoes, your running form, gait efficiency, as well as your speed and flexibility. Those new to natural running form, or those transitioning from a shoe with traditional cushioning will benefit from spending adequate time adjusting. This is because your body will need time to lengthen the muscles and tendons on the back of the leg and under the foot.
  • Newton recommends first-timers walk in their shoes for several days to become accustomed to the level platform. Walking barefoot on safe and comfortable surfaces can also be helpful. Once ready, begin by introducing short runs of no longer than 15 minutes every other day. Gradually add 10-15 minutes as your feet and leg muscles begin to strengthen. If you experience soreness that persists for more than two days, reduce time in shoes immediately. Rest and ice the area until the soreness subsides, then slowly begin introducing time in shoes again.
  • Seamless mesh upper with lightweight synthetic overlays.
  • Allover reflective hits.
  • Plush tongue and collar.
  • Breathable fabric lining.
  • Fixed foam insole supplies light underfoot comfort.
  • Action/Reaction Technology: Highly responsive, trampoline-like and engaging midsole cushioning.
  • Biomechanical Sensor Plate promotes a lighter, more efficient stride.
  • Differential: 4.5 mm
  • Five-lug P.O.P. 2 outsole platform.
  • Durable s.h.a.r.c. outsole material in the forefoot.
  • Imported.

I was an athlete growing up, but never a "runner,' per say. I'm 36 now, and over the years I have gravitated more towards running. I have done everything from a fun run with my kids to my first marathon last year, with a number of mid-distance races in-between. I typically run 3 times per week. Once I started doing that regularly, I was on the hunt for "my shoe." Nikes never held up. I liked Asics for a time, but they weren't right. Brooks have run the gamut from loathe to really like, depending on the model. I ordered a pair of Newtons on a whim sight unseen a few years back because they were a multi-terrain shoe that would allow me to handle roads or gentle trails (their Terra Momentum). I immediately loved the quality, fit, feel, and lugs. When I started training for my marathon, I wanted to add some stability and move to a road shoe. The Kismet was perfect. I got the 2014 green/white model, then ordered the red 2015 color change. I have a couple half-marathons coming up and I just ordered the 2016 blue/orange version. The Kismet are my favorite running shoes I have ever owned and I can't see buying a different brand/model as long as they are produced.

After trying many brands, Newton running is where I landed. I ordered this model, the motion iii, and the distance s iii. While i'm not huge on the color, this is my favorite of the 3 Newtons I ordered. My only concern was the heel is somewhat wide (in all models I now own), but It does not affect my running at all. Looking forward to many miles in my new shoes!
