  • For performance that can withstand the rigors of daily training and tempo runs, and carry you all the way up to race day, look no further than the Newton® Gravity.

    Adaptation Period:
  • Adjusting to Newton running shoes will depend upon several factors including: your current running shoes, your running form, gait efficiency, as well as your speed and flexibility. Those new to natural running form, or those transitioning from a shoe with traditional cushioning will benefit from spending adequate time adjusting. This is because your body will need time to lengthen the muscles and tendons on the back of the leg and under the foot.
  • Newton recommends that first-timers walk in their shoes for several days to become accustomed to the level platform. Walking barefoot on safe and comfortable surfaces can also be helpful. Once ready, begin by introducing short runs of no longer than 15 minutes every other day. Gradually add 10-15 minutes as your feet and leg muscles begin to strengthen. If you experience soreness that persists for more than two days, reduce time in shoes immediately. Rest and ice the area until the soreness subsides, then slowly begin introducing time in shoes again.
  • A running shoe built for the neutral runner looking for a daily trainer that is versatile enough for fast tempo runs and races.
  • Highly breathable, fast-drying, open mesh upper offers a glove-like fit.
  • Minimal synthetic overlays are anatomically placed for light structural support.
  • Metatarsal stretch panels.
  • Plush tongue and collar for added comfort.
  • Fabric lining supplies a soft step-in feel.
  • ETC antifriction, antimicrobial sockliner promotes a great in-shoe environment.
  • Accommodates most orthotics.
  • Action/Reaction Technology: A highly responsive, trampoline-like and engaging midsole cushioning that protects and loses less energy with each step.
  • High-rebound EVA.
  • Biomechanical Sensor Plate allows the foot to sense the ground promoting a lighter, more efficient stride.
  • Heel/ Forefoot Differential: 3 mm
  • Met-flex for enhanced forefoot flexibility.
  • High-density rubber outsole.
  • Carbon rubber heel for extended durability in this high-wear area.
  • Imported.

Love this shoe. I really wanted to be able to run in minimalist shoes. I teach Nia 4 times a week, which is a barefoot cardio class, so I figured my feet and legs would be in great shape for Vibrams or Altras or Inov-8s. It was just too hard on my feet and ankles. The day I switched to the Newtons, my pains lessened and within a week I was fine. The Gravity isn't too built up and it's not at all stiff. The low drop is what makes it a bit similar to minimalist shoes and what makes it so comfortable for my hips and knees. There's just enough cushioning in the foot. Also, it's engineered to help me find the midfoot strike. I've tried a bunch of shoes, including the Brooks Pure (also a very good shoe but not quite as wide and with not quite the same cushioning). The Newtons are totally worth the money; they're letting me run again.

Ran for years with a nagging pain on the outer lower patella region. Last running shoes were Brooks Ghost, loved them. Knee pain remained. Decided to try these because a friend recommended. Very important to know they are not comfortable at first. Literally I walked a little in them, then the next time I wore them I ran like a mile...etc. I have for the first time in years zero knee pain and can really increase my speed. Faster than ever!

Got these to try to alleviate my plantar fasciitis and they seem to be helping. They are a bit pricey, but VERY comfortable and feel very light, and the lugs really do help you strike midsole vs heel. And they are quite eye catching ... I get tons of compliments on them wherever I go. Really love them. Hope to try the Terra Momentum too for walking and everyday use. Lots of room in the toe box.

I'd also recommend: Brooks PureConnect

I love this shoe! I have been running for about a year now. My go-to shoe used to be the Asic Nimbus 13. Then, after finding out that I was landing on my heels all that time, I went to Altras. I liked the Altras because of the minimal feel but the back of the shoe was giving me horrible blisters. After seeing Newtons at a couple of expos, I did some research and got a pair. They are my favorites by far. I wear a 9.5 in the Asics and Altras, got a 10 in the Newton Gravity. They fit a little loose but I think they are supposed to. I pair these with injinji toe socks and no more toe blisters either. I still rotate my shoes so none of them wear out, but I can't recommend these enough. And they are beautiful if you like "loud" shoes!

I'd also recommend: Asics, Altra

Best sneaker I have ever worn. Live in NYC and walk at least 4 miles a day. This sneaker really absorbs the hit of the cement pavement. The raised section under the metatarsal forces the foot to walk heel to toe. Instant relief from foot pain. Worth the price.

I'd also recommend: No brand compares to Newton.
