Have always been a New Balance fan. This style has worked well for being on my feet most of the day, while having a nice casual look.

Bunions and the need for orthotics make it difficult for me to find comfortable shoes. Since I live in a rural area of Vermont, I can only find shoes online. The customer service at Zappos is the best. I ordered a couple of different styles. This is the one that I kept. I wish that the section where the laces run had not been sewn in at the top. If that section is loose, I would like to leave the laces really loose at the top. Other than that, I am very happy with the comfort of this shoe.

I wear an 11N, and was hopeful that this shoe would fit better than previous incarnations in the same line; no such luck. This shoe has a "short" forefoot area (from behind the ball of the foot to the end of one's toes), and this shortness is made worse by the fact that the 780 has a less-rounded, i.e., more pointed, toe than some previous shoes in this same line. On a person with an even moderately high instep, the sides of the 780 do not come up high enough on the top of the foot; the top three lacing holes even slant back, leaving the tongue (not gusseted) uncovered by the lacing holes. And the metal lacing "grommets" on the top two lacing holes are very awkward and clumsy to use. In my opinion, the last well-fitting shoe in this line was the 745; rounded toe, adequate forefoot length, shoe sides that covered the tongue, and a simple, functional lacing pattern. The 780s are disappointing, to say the least!

I have duck feet and plantar fasciitis, so I'm tough to fit for shoes. Keeping that in mind, I ordered the widest size available and am I ever glad I did! These fit like gloves right out of the box and my only complaint is that the heel feels a little high and off-balance. I'm sure I'll wear that down soon enough. lol The arch support is even almost enough, which is rare for me. Definitely five stars!

This is a comfortable, well-made shoe. I always have trouble finding a shoe that feels good on both feet - but finally I have! I walk long distances, sometimes 20 mi. a day, on trails and on the beach. At the end of the walk, my feet feel as good as when I started – that’s a major plus.

These shoes rock! I have always worn NB and these are no exception! I walked all over California for a week in them without the "break in" period and they still felt like they were not even on my feet! Awesome buy, first one online!

These shoes were comfortable from the start. Very unusual for me. I have wide feet, and they are a great fit. I wear a 9 1\/2, but needed a 10. They also make my feet look smaller for some reason. I wore them all day when I got them, and never gave a thought to them. They were that comfortable.

I bought these shoes for a hiking trip and found them to be very comfortable. I have fibromyalgia, and my feet often hurt after walking a lot. That was not a problem with these shoes. However, there is only moderate arch support in the shoes. My feet are very narrow and flat, and I had to add an arch support on the left foot, and a heel lift on the right. Also, I did find the shoes somewhat bulky and stiff. I had also bought New Balance WW967 in an 8 1/2 - it was softer and more form fitting. I liked the WW967 better than the WW780, but it was too short and I sent it back. I was pressed for time so I just kept the WW780. All things given, I would prefer the WW967 to the WW780.

Shoe looks sturdy and feels great but is too small. I usually wear 8.5 W but this 8.5 one is overall one size smaller.

Shoe seemed short and not very wide. It also felt very stiff. However, as always, Zappos was wonderful. Free shipping both ways makes it easy and affordable to shop on-line.

I walk 3-5 miles each day and was beginning to have pain in my left foot, shin and hip. I bought these shoes, which are considered a light hiking boot, and I noticed relief on the first use. I have now used them for over two weeks, and I'm feeling great. The shoe is roomy and gives great support. I think it is a good bargain for the price and I will be replacing my shoes earlier in the future!

Very light weight and really comfortable. I like to add special inserts to all my shoes, and NB makes it possible.

I have a wide foot with a high arch and these were comfortable from the start. Great arch support. These were the closest I could find to replace a pair of Propet sneakers that I loved.

I ordered this shoe because it looked like it would be really comfortable, it was on sale for a very good price and because it didn't look as clunky as some I've seen in this style. Unfortunately for me, the pair I received WAS NOT TRUE TO SIZE. I ordered a Size 11 W. The pair I received was much too short to be a Size 10 W. I'm returning this pair of shoes. I'm not sure if I want to try my luck reordering these New Balance shoes.

I received these in the mail today. I was so excited about Zappos delivery time (as always) and elated about the color of these shoes. The tan portion is a little bit darker than pictured, which is what I'd hoped! This New Balance wide is a little bit narrower than their normal tennis shoe width, which is still fine but something to take note of. The support is AMAZING and I haven't wanted to take them off since taking them out of the box. I'm so glad I got these. Oh, and I'm technically a woman's size 4, and the 5 is the smallest I could find, and it fits perfectly. So, perhaps this shoe runs a little bit small (but for me, that's perfect)! Yay! Thanks Zappos and New Balance!

I've been rocking these NB olivey-brown low-top hikers for years! Great traction for the iciest of wintry conditions for everyday but a great multi-tasker that can confidently take you on winter hiking trails, too. The color is a terrific neutral so you don't have to change at work--I wear them with pantsuits all the time when weather demands. And these go straight from winter to spring as conditions become muddy, are a dream in summer stability while hiking up those mountains or along a craggy beach coastline, and are a true wonder in fall when the weather can turn on a dime. IMHO, the best shoe investment you'll ever make!

This shoe was immediately comfortable; great support, resists staining from water and snow. Hope to get it in other colors.
