The AL-2 last is perfect for my feet: it fits my high arches and gives extra room for my toes. The shoe felt great out of the box and will go directly out on a hike. This is the second pair of this style that I have ordered and the sizing and quality of materials have been consistent. They last about a year with me walking at least 3 miles 6 days a week, not to mention around town and in the garden. Zappos delivered my order quickly. I have been a customer for a few years now, and service from this company has always been excellent.

I've been rocking these NB olivey-brown low-top hikers for years! Great traction for the iciest of wintry conditions for everyday but a great multi-tasker that can confidently take you on winter hiking trails, too. The color is a terrific neutral so you don't have to change at work--I wear them with pantsuits all the time when weather demands. And these go straight from winter to spring as conditions become muddy, are a dream in summer stability while hiking up those mountains or along a craggy beach coastline, and are a true wonder in fall when the weather can turn on a dime. IMHO, the best shoe investment you'll ever make!

I have a wide foot with a high arch and these were comfortable from the start. Great arch support. These were the closest I could find to replace a pair of Propet sneakers that I loved.

I walk 3-5 miles each day and was beginning to have pain in my left foot, shin and hip. I bought these shoes, which are considered a light hiking boot, and I noticed relief on the first use. I have now used them for over two weeks, and I'm feeling great. The shoe is roomy and gives great support. I think it is a good bargain for the price and I will be replacing my shoes earlier in the future!

Shoe looks sturdy and feels great but is too small. I usually wear 8.5 W but this 8.5 one is overall one size smaller.

These shoes were comfortable from the start. Very unusual for me. I have wide feet, and they are a great fit. I wear a 9 1\/2, but needed a 10. They also make my feet look smaller for some reason. I wore them all day when I got them, and never gave a thought to them. They were that comfortable.

These shoes rock! I have always worn NB and these are no exception! I walked all over California for a week in them without the "break in" period and they still felt like they were not even on my feet! Awesome buy, first one online!

This is a comfortable, well-made shoe. I always have trouble finding a shoe that feels good on both feet - but finally I have! I walk long distances, sometimes 20 mi. a day, on trails and on the beach. At the end of the walk, my feet feel as good as when I started – that’s a major plus.

I have duck feet and plantar fasciitis, so I'm tough to fit for shoes. Keeping that in mind, I ordered the widest size available and am I ever glad I did! These fit like gloves right out of the box and my only complaint is that the heel feels a little high and off-balance. I'm sure I'll wear that down soon enough. lol The arch support is even almost enough, which is rare for me. Definitely five stars!

Bunions and the need for orthotics make it difficult for me to find comfortable shoes. Since I live in a rural area of Vermont, I can only find shoes online. The customer service at Zappos is the best. I ordered a couple of different styles. This is the one that I kept. I wish that the section where the laces run had not been sewn in at the top. If that section is loose, I would like to leave the laces really loose at the top. Other than that, I am very happy with the comfort of this shoe.

A nice looking shoe. No arch support or cushioning. I have to return this pair as the left foot is too tight. I ordered wide width but the left is too tight across the ball of my foot. Otherwise they fit very nicely. I am going to keep the New Balance 646's as they fit perfectly.
