I'm working in Afghanistan and needed a good-fitting wide shoe, with a high arch, that could take the abuse from the heat, maneuver over the rocks, and look good! New Balance hit the bulls-eye. Thank you!

Shoes just arrived and they\'re on my hard-to-fit foot: size 5.5. All of a sudden my bones are back in place and my feet feel well-supported. I chose this shoe because of its light weight, which is important to me. My walking is all on city sidewalks, and these feel wonderful.
Brands I'd also recommend: Ryka (only they stopped making my favorite in 5.5)

I bought them for walking from the train station to work and return. They are very comfortable. Great stability on surfaces. In the rain they can be slippery on wet flat metal. Then I took them on vacation. Five days of walking and my feet felt great! No blisters.

When I ordered this shoe, I forgot that it is extremely padded and that I should have ordered a larger than usual size. I only needed to increase a half size, not a full size.

I usually wear a 7.5 to a 8. I went ahead and ordered an eight and they fit perfect. Very comfy right from the start. Good looking with a great sole.

I usually favor more attractive shoes for city walking but finally decided I needed a real walking shoe, and this seems to work. It doesn't look too bad, and seems quite supportive and padded. I am between a 7 1/2 and 8 and the width is right for me in 8, although there's quite a bit of extra space at the toe. I preferred the appearance of these to a couple of the more expensive New Balance styles and I can adjust the lacing on these more easily for when I'm wearing thicker or thinner socks. These remind me of the New Balance running shoes I had 25 years ago but reincarnated as a walking shoe.

I bought these because New Balance took 621 (the perfect sneaker to me) out of production and these fit best of 5 or more that I tried. They are adequate. One annoyance: the laces come untied unless I double knot.

I have high arches and a wide foot. Normally I wear an 7.5 wide, but these fit me best in an 8D. A bit more arch support would be greatly appreciated; in any case, they take pretty good care of my feet while standing on concrete floors all day.

Bought these shoes for my 83 year old mom. She takes her dog every morning for a walk in her New Balance, she loves these shoes, very comfortable. Great support and good fit.

I have very troubled feet, pinched nerve/high arches etc. I am on my feet on concrete all day and when I put these shoes on they felt great. I am thinking about buying another pair to keep for later. A comfortable "wide" shoe is hard to find.

I have really enjoyed these shoes. They are comfortable from the day I first put them on to present day. New Balance tends to last longer than other brands when it comes to walking/hiking shoes. I like these. Just a tiny bit narrow for a wide. Most wides are roomy. These pinch the pinkie toes just a little. Other than that great shoe, very well made & sturdy. Not much arch support, but my orthotics do the trick. Pretty!

Love these sneakers. Very comfortable. I use an insole to help prevent plantar fasciitis from getting worse, and there was plenty of space in the shoe for my foot and the insert.

Love this shoe. When I walk in mornings wet grass with my dog, the following day the shoe is dry. These are great hiking shoes and are put to the test every day! They fit best with thicker socks for me. I normally take an 8 and ordered an 8 with perfect results.

I ordered these in a 7W. My width has varied at times, but rarely does my length. Still, in these shoes it did. I had to return them and got a very comfy pair a half size larger (same width). Thanks to Zappos - I had the 1st pair in less than 48 hours and the 2nd pair in less than 24 hours! Both the shoes and the service are great!
