I have owned 20+ of New Balances over the past 20 years of running, and these are my least favorite - EVER. The synthetic mesh upper doesn't breathe, and my feet are wet after 3 miles. I have never had ankle, lower leg pain - until I started running in these. I have logged 65 runs in them, and as soon as I get to 90 - I am throwing them away. Usually I keep my last pair for grocery runs, etc - and I won't bother with these. Could be my fault as I don't like the fit - but after years of loving NB, I'm amazed.
Other Brands Recommended by Reviewer: traditional, mesh topped NB's - not these!

Good shoe, great service -
I was pleasantly surprised when I was given next-day shipping on these shoes. I ordered the black/lavender color combination which has a bit more silver than I expected, but overall the shoe looks pretty good. I liked it because it lacks the mesh look of most NB running shoes. They are very comfortable for running, cross-training, etc., and I love that NB is available in wide! I always order a 9 in NB athletic shoes, but most of my other shoes are an 8. I'm an underpronator and these shoes are supposed to be good for that, but I haven't noticed a difference yet.

Good stable running shoe.
I love NBs, and I was excited because this shoe is good looking and made just for me (I am a serious underpronator). In testing it out on some light runs, it works great. It has good arch support, lots of room around the toes, and tongs of breathability and good flexibility of the sole. What I don't like is that the tongue of the shoe is exceptionally long and rubs against the front of my ankle, and the laces are so long that I have to triple tie them and tuck them into the shoe so I don't trip on them. I eventually figured out how to position the tongue so it doesn't rub on my leg and so it is no longer a problem, but I wish I would have known about it before I bought this shoe. Otherwise, it fits well and is good for distance running.

This shoe looks good on line, but sole is hard on foot, did not keep me from supination at all, and the white mesh on top was gray within weeks. Is very difficult, impossible actually, to clean. I was very disappointed.

After being unsuccessful trying on shoes at stores, I ordered 5 pairs of running shoes from Zappos in 2 separate orders. These were the winner! I was consistently experiencing pain under the outside edge of my feet during my workouts and thought it might be my shoes. Through some research on Zappos and other sites, I figured out I have medium to high arches and under pronate. I also realized my foot is wide. So even super cushioned shoes didn't fit right because the outside of my foot was hanging over the supportive part of the shoe. I tried the Saucony Grid Cohesion NX W, the New Balance WR8509, and this one and these were by far the most comfortable. The arch support is good and my foot feels both stable and cushioned during my workout. Most importantly, it's the first time in years that I don't have that foot pain. I feel I should mention something about the color. I ordered these in charcoal grey. I like the way they look but the grey/silver parts are much more metallic than they appear in the pictures here. Some areas that look almost white are actually a shiny silver. It's still a nice looking shoe though but maybe not for everyone.

Was looking for a cute black shoe that I could put arch supports in. This shoe is it. My husband looks for lights on the heel like a kid’s shoe. There is a lot more silver on the black and lavender than I thought, but still really enjoy the shoe.

It is always hard when you order shoes from a site without trying them. These shoes are just what my daughter needed for gym at school. She is very happy with them. Mail service was also very fast. Thanks again.

New Balance WR725 -
After having Zappos ship me 3 other styles of running shoes I ordered these and they were the fit and look I had been wanting! I have never worn New Balance but I thought the shoe had such a great look and after reading the reviews I thought they might have been the one for me. Comfort right out of the box, not too spongy yet comfortable. I walk about 6 miles a day and I am not a runner but these shoes offered both comfort and look that I appreciate. I may be a New Balance convert after these. The reviews were very helpful after I had already tried 3 other shoes. Thanks Zappos for your OUTSTANDING customer service and your HUGE selection! I'm a customer for life!

Not much arch support and I didn't realize the shoes were wrapped in a bronze-colored band. I like New Balance shoes, but I would not buy these again.

Happy I bought them! Just received these – the shipping was so quick! True to size and so comfortable. I ordered a wide and it fits great! Lots of cushion and no "break in" period! The color is brown and tan, with blue accent, appeared a little pink on screen but it is brown and tan. This is my 3rd purchase with Zappos and I have had wonderful experiences. Plan on shopping here again.

I think these shoes are advertised for running, but they are wonderful for walking. I need a wide width and these are a perfect fit.

Good midpriced option -
I love New Balance shoes and always look for a mid priced walk/run option shoe that is stylish. These fit the bill. I was hoping for a bit more arch support, but for regular treadmill use, these are perfect.
