New Balance began as a Boston-based arch support company in the early 1900s, developed into a specialized manufacturer of shoes in the 1970s, and has grown to become a leading global athletic products company. Today New Balance is a family of brands including New Balance, Dunham, PF Flyers, Aravon, Warrior and Brine.

Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. Part of producing New Balance shoes and athletic clothing is manufacturing it to fit all widths and sizes, because a better fit produces better performance.

To ensure the best fitting, best performing shoes and clothes, New Balance focuses on improving their technology and production methods. A big part of that is maintaining five manufacturing facilities here in the United States where they continue to produce New Balance shoes and apparel that meet the standards they've employed for 100 years. They have also remained committed to a core set of values that include integrity, teamwork and total customer satisfaction.

I have these shoes. They are great for walking. Plus, they are so sharp looking. I am going to order another pair. I highly recommend them. A store that measured my foot said this style runs a half size smaller.

Super comfortable, cool colors -- love that they are navy and not the typical black, great for casual wear. I can't see myself wearing for exercise of any kind, as they don't seem to be very supportive. But, I specifically bought them for hanging out, so I love them.

These shoes are cut more narrow and the toe box is smaller than other New Balances but that is precisely why they are so comfortable to run in. They have just the right amount of cushioning but feel super light. They also work well for crossfit workouts though I wear a flatter shoe for lifting. And they are so fun to look at. I love the compliments.

I'd also recommend: inov8 f-lites

Cute, supportive, ultralight running shoes! I bought these for my daughter, as she loves to run on the beach, and the sand necessitates an ultralight shoe. She had tried these on and wanted them for Christmas. I had priced them out everywhere, and Zappos had the best price (they are new offerings, and haven't come down in price yet). I have ordered from Zappos for years because of their speed in deliveries and their easy return policies. They certainly didn't disappoint this time! Shoes arrived within 2 days of ordering, in great shape, and the correct fit. My daughter absolutely loves the shoes... won't take them off her feet.

With the combination of primary and neon colors, these shoes match everything! The lack of arch support did not work well for my cycling class, but they provided great traction in Body Pump - especially with lunges. And the best for last - lots of compliments on the shoe!

I'd also recommend: Nike Free
