Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. Part of producing New Balance shoes and athletic clothing is manufacturing it to fit all widths and sizes, because a better fit produces better performance.
To ensure the best fitting, best performing shoes and clothes, New Balance focuses on improving their technology and production methods. A big part of that is maintaining five manufacturing facilities here in the United States where they continue to produce New Balance shoes and apparel that meet the standards they've employed for 100 years. Let me begin by saying that I use these shoes for lifting weights and lifting weights only. But I do love them! Plenty of room in the toe box with a considerably slimmer mid-foot and heel surface area, as is a normal foot shape. This definitely makes for a snug fit but that is a good thing, especially in a minimalist shoe that you are wearing while exercising. Just the right amount of arch support, respecting both the barefoot feel and the requirements of a training shoe. The sole is durable while still letting my foot feel close to the ground, which is perhaps my favorite part. When working with heavy weights like on squats and deadlifts I can really get my foot flat on the ground and push through my heels. No comment on any performance while running or during any sort of agility training.

I have worn New Balance shoes for years. These are tight. This is the first time that I have ever purchased anything from New Balance that was so tight.

I am an avid crossfitter and was looking for a shoe to rival the Reebok Nano 2.0. The 12 in the Nano was too small and the 12.5 and 13 were too big. The 13 in the MX20v3 was perfect. The wide toe box is made for running, jumping, and lifting during WODs and the minimal heel to toe drop with a solid sole provides the support and groundedness you need in the Olympic lifts while allowing you to work on ankle and hip mobility without the limits of a Oly lifting shoe. The Vibram sole and arch provide plenty of durability during rope climbs. Highly recommend for Crossfit or any training program that doesn't include "long" runs.

Like all New Balance shoes I've purchased, these run true to size, including the EE size. They are great for the gym and provide a terrific balance for lifting and planting your feet, while still providing excellent slipper-like comfort. Just ordered a 2nd pair.

I train in these NB, mostly hit cardio. The sizing was adequate. They do tend to loosen up a bit as I wore them. Sometimes the get a little slippery when sweaty. Great comfort level and a proper shoe to bridge the gap between five fingers.
I'd also recommend: Vibram five finger
