I seldom write reviews but I am compelled to write and say these are wonderful shoes! I've worn New Balance for years and have had multiple pairs of the 810 model that preceded the 812. The 812 is the most comfortable shoe I've worn. I like to walk, a lot, but I pronate badly. These support my feet and ankles wonderfully. I don't think you can go wrong with the 812!

Love these shoes. Was concerned that simulated leather top would be a problem which might make shoes feel hot to the feet, but no such problem. Shoes could not be more comfortable.

New Balance used to be the premier wide foot sneaker around, unfortunately the last two pair have been sorely lacking. This pair felt no wider than a 4E, the anterior side of my feet were over the base and any extended amount of standing or walking caused blisters and callouses to form as well as excruciating pain. Their "rollbar" technology about the heel of the shoe does absolutely nothing but increase the pain on your heels when walking. The stitching is already fraying in spots. I would not buy this style again, but if like me, your feet are very wide, your choices are not plentiful. Would not recommend this shoe because of the tightness in width and the craftsmanship has lacked in stitching.

These shoes are way too mushy. No performance in them at all. They are only comfortable if you go at a slow plod. Step with any speed and they fail miserably and hurt your feet. Pathetic. These shoes may be good for old diabetic men, but if you want a walking shoe that is comfortable and responsive to a healthy person then I would rate this shoe at 1 star. They are good if you are just standing or moving at turtle speed. These shoes are for 80 year olds or the infirm.

I bought these shoes for my husband to replace a pair of 811 that I accidentally gave away. As the 811 is no longer available and the 812s looked similar, I ordered the 812s. My husband wore them to work (without breaking them in around the house at my suggestion), and after a full day on his feet, said they felt great (his feet and the shoes!) I am going to order a brown pair, too!

I am A person with a partial foot amputation. My medical staff fitted me for this exact brand/model of shoe with an orthotic insole. I then ordered additional colors through Zappos. The manufacturer insole is removable and my exact orthotic insole fits perfectly. I wear the black as a dress shoe and the white for casual.

Hard to find extra wide widths that have normal style--this shoe is excellent though. Shoelaces are a little too long but those can be easily swapped out. Excellent shoe overall.

Bought these on a Podiatrist recommendation for hubby with severely arthritic feet. Had to have something that would accommodate his custom orthotics. These are awesome! So good that we are buying another pair and he'll be wearing nothing but these shoes! He has very wide, flat feet and these are perfect for him.

I bought these to replace another brand. The previous pair were more money and from a reputable outlet. These are the most comfortable pair I have had in many years. By the end of the first day at work I forgot they were on my feet. The upper leather is soft and comfortable which brings me to my only concern. The leather above my toes is so soft that I am concerned about longevity but for now the comfort wins out.

I always order a size bigger in any walking shoe I buy. I normally wear a size 7 and I got these in size 8 and they fit perfect.

These shoes are very comfortable. I wear them all day and forget I have them on. After 4 months of almost daily wear they've held up very well. They appear well made and seem like they'll last for a few years. The only downside is the puffy laces they come with that loosen up easily and need frequent reties. Replace them, and all is good.

I ordered these shoes because a reviewer complained the shoes weren't suitable for fast walking and were "old man" shoes. At 80 I guess I'm an old man. The shoes are very comfortable, excellent walking shoes and they don't look like geriatric specials.

My husband (a big man) has been wearing these for the last 5 years. The only time he wears anything else is with a suit. Very comfortable.
