Good shoe, but not as comfortable as the American made 993 classic. If I had it to do over again, I would spend the extra money and get the 993. This shoe is more rigid and supportive if you are a walker, but not as comfortable.

This shoe is very uncomfortable when worn for extended periods of time on hard surfaces such as sidewalks. This is disturbing since it is a "Country Walker". Arch support is also very poor. However, the fit is good.
Brands I'd also recommend: Naot, Merrell, Keen, Nike, Born, Asics

Wow! Why haven't I tried these shoes before? I have large wide feet (14 4E) and usually buy a running shoe. But the good looks of this shoe made me give them a chance. I was not disappointed! This is the most comfortable shoe I've worn in ages. Not only were they wide enough for my giant feet, but they had enough room in the toe box. Something lacking in most shoes of my size. I highly recommend giving these shoes a try!

I wear orthotics and typically like a pretty wide shoe. To me the shoes felt a little bit narrow as I compared them to another pair of New Balance shoes, the MR883s. The 883s may run wider than other shoes, so the point of comparison may not be truly accurate. Either way I had to go with the 4Es in this shoe and only needed the 2E in the MR833s which still felt a little bit more roomy. Overall, though I like the shoes and am happy with the purchase. I also have nothing but good things to say about Zappos customer service, delivery fulfillment, and transit speed.

Just started wearing NB shoes; what a difference they make. I'm sold on them. A great fit and the price through Zappos is very competitive, while the service from Zappos is absolutely incredible! A lifelong customer of Zappos.

The sneaker is comfortable and seems to be constructed well. The darker gray material is a nubuck-like material. I'm a little concerned how it will do in the rain and haven't tried wearing it out in that type of weather yet. I bought this sneaker because it can be worn in a multiple of ways: with shorts, jeans and pants of various colors. New Balance seems to take more care in how they craft sneakers as well as use better and more durable materials, compared to Nike.

This is the closest I could get to the MW 645, which was the best NB shoe I've ever owned. It is a little wider than the 645, but comfortable. The laces are tubular and tend to come undone, unlike the flat, crinkly laces in the 645. It feels more structured than the 993, which used to be my favorite. I like the brown colors, but the subtler red of the 645.

I had a pair of MW645 shoes that were very comfortable. I replaced with them with the MW646's and am very disappointed. I wear orthotics and these shoes are just really uncomfortable. Have ordered MW955's to replace these.

Excellent! Saw these in a local store. I knew they were for me but no one could give an answer as to when they would have my size. Most places said they do not make them in your size! 10d come on man! Very common size. Went to Zappos and, lo and behold, no problem and I had them in 3 days shipped right to my door and get this - no shipping charges! I know size on most shoes or boots and I will be back again! And get this! They even supply a return tag in case they do not fit right or you just plain old do not like them, no hassles at all. You can not go wrong!

The size was a true fit, however there is little cushion in the sole. It has a "hard walk" feel to it. If it had a softer cushion in it, it would be a great shoe.

I have had four operations on my feet and I can only wear sneakers to work or anytime for that matter. New Balance is the one and only brand that I can count on for a true fit, (I wear a 9 2E and an insert for feet). This particular pair I wear when it becomes colder outside and they keep my feet warm and comfortable all day long. I am on my feet all day on a hard surface.

I've been hampered my whole life trying to find a comfortable every day shoe. These are by far the best shoe I've ever worn. Great construction, durable and affordable. I would recommend these shoes to everyone.
