Lace em' up & go! Normally wear a 10.5 + or - a 1/2 size. Thought the 10.5s I ordered "looked" a bit long, but they were just right as I tried them on, thumbnail space in front of longest toe. 10 would've been too small. No issues whatsoever! My fussy ultra-running feet love them. (High arch & instep - narrow heel). Low to the ground stability, good cushioning, secure & protective feel. The 87FIVE comes out in a month, I hope they don't re-invent this shoe!

Great shoes, but… If I had written this last week, it would have been five stars across the board. They look great, are quite comfortable, and the RockStop feature works well to keep small rocks from sticking in the treads. I bought them last August and did a lot of trail running and racing with them since then, even in deep snow with Kahtoolah Microspikes on. So I was surprised after a particularly grueling and muddy 20K this weekend to see the mesh starting to split and separate from the sole around the forefoot. I guess I'm not used to seeing that happen in a New Balance, which has long been my shoe of preference. Maybe the mud was toxic! I would still recommend this shoe.

Awesome shoe - This was the first time for me purchasing a New Balance shoe. I've always heard good reviews about them from friends so I decided to give them a try. This shoe is probably the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. It's super light and very supportive. It looks great too and I can't wait to take it out on the trails. The only negative thing I noticed about this shoe is that it conducts a lot of static electricity and I would get shocked every time I got out of my car. Other than that... buy this shoe. I'm definitely a fan of New Balance.

Crazy about this running shoe!! I purchased these shoes for my husband and he said they are the best shoes he has ever owned. The shoe laces are great, they don't untie while he is on his run. The allow his feet to breath and that is also a plus.

Additional Brand Information

New Balance began as a Boston-based arch support company in the early 1900s, developed into a specialized manufacturer of shoes in the 1970s, and has grown to become a leading global athletic products company. Today New Balance is a family of brands including New Balance, Dunham, PF Flyers, Aravon, Warrior and Brine.

Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. Part of producing New Balance shoes and athletic clothing is manufacturing it to fit all widths and sizes, because a better fit produces better performance.

To ensure the best fitting, best performing shoes and clothes, New Balance focuses on improving their technology and production methods. A big part of that is maintaining five manufacturing facilities here in the United States where they continue to produce New Balance shoes and apparel that meet the standards they've employed for 100 years. They have also remained committed to a core set of values that include integrity, teamwork and total customer satisfaction.

The alternative to surgery - I walk...a lot. After years of pain in my back, knees and ankles, I had my stride "analyzed". When I laced these on, immediately, and I do mean immediately, the pain I was feeling was GONE. Neutral cushion with an EEEE is not common, and I am grateful to have found them. I will be buying another pair!

Pretty awesome - I've owned these for a few weeks now and they've been extremely comfortable and fit well. Besides the usual arch support, comfort, and fit that all get good marks, there a couple of really cool things I have to comment on. a) The laces are designed with 1/2 or 3/4 inch separated indents that help "lock" the tie in place so the laces never become untied. b) The rear of the shoes seem to have a neat white triangle reflector that potentially can be useful if you're running in a vehicle trafficked area. I don't know if this was intentional though since I haven't really seen it from a distance or testify to it really working, but my girlfriend commented on it one night while she was walking behind me and I think it's worth mentioning. With those two comments and overall satisfaction I recommend these to anyone.

A winner - This is a fabulous shoe. You wanna run trails in slipper comfort? This is your shoe -- especially if you have a wide foot. Sorry about the color, but if they made them in another color, EVERYBODY would own them. Then I'd have to lie in this review and badmouth them so I could have them all to myself. (Actually, they have a white model up to 2E, but for those of us walking around on canoe paddle feet; this glow-in-the-dark version is the only option.) So far I've gotten only compliments on them (probably from people who figured it best not to mess with someone crazy enough to buy them). Comfort and traction are fabulous. Too soon to report on durability, but a great shoe.

Better suited for uneven surfaces outdoors - Comfortable. True to size with very good support. The 811 is usable indoors on a treadmill, whereas the treads on the 874 are more like cleats and not really appropriate for indoor running. Excellent for crushed gravel or other more technical trails.

Cushy - I am not a runner, but I thought, why should runners have the comfortable sneakers! I ride a motorcycle with these and walk to work in them. They are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn.

Great Running Shoe - Looking for a good running shoe after a few years of being a couch potato. The MT874 stood out by its looks but also by how it was described, so I ordered them. They are very light, comfortable, supportive, and I love the look. I couldn't be happier. Can't beat the service at Zappos either. Buy with complete confidence.
