I am a die hard New Balance fan. Theirs are the only sneakers I buy. As with all New Balance shoes, these are great sneakers. They are a little bulkier/heavier than I am used to, especially if distance running, but they are great for cross training. I would recommend these.

Shoe love! This is my favorite trail runner I have ever owned. I love the lateral support and comfort, and seems to be extremely well made. Longevity is a big thing with me and, although I've only had them for a month I feel like they'll last me. The bottom of the shoe is great for traction, lots of grooves to prevent slippage. One more thing, perhaps most important, they look awesome. Grab a pair you won't be disappointed. :)

As always my Zappos order arrived within 2 days; well under the expectation. Excellent fit, and they look like bumble bees, which I dig.
Brands I'd also recommend: I prefer New Balance, so i'd recomend them if i ever met myself and needed advice.

These are comfortable, stylish, and have great traction. The shoestrings are a little weird but not really a problem.

About New Balance
Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. To ensure the best fitting, best performing shoes and clothes, New Balance focuses on improving their technology and production methods. A big part of that is maintaining five manufacturing facilities here in the United States where they continue to produce New Balance shoes and apparel that meet the standards they've employed for 100 years. Unlike the 573 this one pretty much fits true to size (maybe a tad small, but still works).

These look great and function well for trail running or walking, but I fought the fit to be a bit tight, as I usually wear a D width, but these are very tight around the foot - maybe consider getting a larger width than normal.

Very nice sneakers at a good price. These are only assembled here in the USA and not made here. They fit well if not a little too tight on the sides. I recommend them.

The New Balance MT626 is a good shoe for trail running. The materials and workmanship seem like they will hold for a while. I use them to run on uneven dirt roads with mud, sand and gravel for 5.5 miles at a time at an 8-9 minute mile pace, and these shoes don't give me any problems. I am a moderate overpronator, and these shoes don't really have quite enough stability for me, but they do prevent some overpronation. The outsoles seem to provide good traction on the terrain I run, although I haven't gone through any serious mud with them yet, so I don't know how well they would do there. My ankles haven't even come close to turning in these shoes, unlike some other trail runners I've tried. They do have enough padding in the forefoot to prevent feeling every rock and root I step on. Overall, I would say that New Balance MT626. It's good to go.

I love the New Balance shoes basically for the wider shoe selection. This pair has been the best pair I've gotten so far. I work 40 hours a week standing on these shoes, no sitting, and they feel amazing!

from Michigan shoe was for Nevada though
I bought these as a Christmas gift for my son who lives in Nevada-coming to MI for the holidays. He loved them. Has a wide foot (4E) and loved that they were made in US...plus he liked the appearance!

I prefer New Balance to all others; they just fit better than the others. This was an upgrade shoe from the four hundred series. I pronate when I run, so a running shoe with mid arch support and decent tread depth is important. The MT626 does not disappoint. Out of the box they are comfortable and ready to hit the road or trail. I've run both pavement and trails and found them to be effective and comfortable, even when wet.

I've owned my share of hiking boots and have never found a pair that I thought really cut it on the trail, due to my fast pace. These shoes are hands down the best hiking shoes I've ever owned. The soles are great for hiking over varied ground and keep me steady at all times. The shoe is incredibly light weight and has wonderful heel cushioning and very good toe-to-earth feel in the front. Made in the USA. Stop looking and buy it.

I bought these shoes for the portion of time my job requires me to be off-pavement. For that, these shoes have proven to be quite comfortable and with plenty of traction. I like the design and the construction seems durable. I did not give fives below because I have not had the shoes long enough, but I do like them.

Zappos is the best! Aside from its incredible shoe selection, its customer service is unsurpassable. I've exchanged shoes twice without any hassle, and got the ones I wanted in just a couple of days. I don't buy shoes anywhere else! I'm hooked.

Amazing...I bought my first pair of New Balance shoes around 4 years ago. I wear them every day as my primary shoes, working on my feet on a concrete floor, and each pair has lasted at least a year. Very pleased, they are very lightweight, comfortable. The only downside is the "mesh" body of the shoe. The cold and water goes right through them. But I will deal with that for comfortable shoes.

Great shoe super comfortable, and very true to size. I got the EE and it was great, so much so I then also got the yellow and love both pair. Hard to find a shoe I really like and have it fit in width. Some shoes always feel so narrow but not these in EE width.

I bought these shoes because I wanted a trail running show that I could wear for my morning walks/runs on street and trails. These shoes feel amazing. I have a wide foot and always rely on NB, because of various widths, for comfortable activewear. I chose this model because I wasn't quite ready for a completely flat, minimalist running shoe (MT-20, etc) but I have been gradually moving more and more minimalist, and have been feeling the benefit of activating previously unused foot muscles. The MT-626 is a nice transition shoe to this end. I highly recommend these shoes.
