Probably the greatest trail shoe ever made. If you are running very rocky terrain, the rock plate provides more then enough protection for even the longest races. The shoes are very lightweight, very comfortable without socks, and drain of water very fast. Perfect for the ultra trail runner. Before I forget, grip is amazing.

These shoes are garbage, but there is no zero star/do not buy option below. The heel section of the sole fell off day one. Zappos (as always!) immediately replaced them. The second pair, well, see that shiny perforated material between the laces and the toe? It separated, then peeled completely off. So in two weeks, two pairs of these "shoes" are unusable. The replacement pair now consists of paper-thin soles that lace. Generally, I look for more in a shoe at this price, and am not sure whether to laugh or cry at the fact that all ten toes are right there plain as day when needed for the more difficult addition problems. Thank you Lord, that Zappos loves their customers so much and tried to make this right. It is not Zappos fault these shoes are simply junk. Look closely, there is no stitching. My best guess is that a load of shoddy, stuck together with air soluble glue, disposable plastic hospital shoes were accidentally shipped to Zappos rather than the incinerator? Very much surprised at this flimsy, cheap, cannot be worn should you desire to "run" or "walk" footwear. What has happened to you New Balance?

Shoes arrived quickly and fit as promised. What a relief to know that there is a place to get shoes for big, wide feet.

These shoes are amazing, comfortable, perfect for minimalist running and Crossfit. The 4mm heel to toe drop is just the right amount for me and the treads lugs are perfect traction.

Put about 7 runs in so far, and overall it's a very good shoe, I have just a few issues. Sole: love the rubber, almost like climbing shoe rubber material, it seems to stick to everything, and is great on slick rocks and logs. The lugs on the midsole are genius for extra log traction. Not sure if the directional lug actually does anything, but I like the idea. Flexibility is similar to the MT 100s and 101s. My only issue is traction in muddy conditions -- for some reason I am slipping more in these than in my MT101's, I think it might be that the lugs are too close together, and are getting clogged up (think molded soccer cleats on a muddy field). Upper: Styling is a little obnoxious, but since I only wear them to run I have no real complaints. The fit is overall really comfortable. For those who don't know, the upper is almost like a mesh sock inside of a harder rubber shell. It felt strange at first, but once I ditched my socks I am really starting to like the feel. They drain decently well, and fit well enough around my ankle to keep crud out. Sizing-wise they feel pretty true, but seem to me to be a little long in the toe box, not enough to change sizing though for most I imagine. The 2E does feel a touch wider than my D width 101s, but still most likely not wide enough for those that need a truly wide shoe (a 4E version would be nice NB!). So, all in all I am really happy with them, a great upgrade from the 101 (especially the smaller drop), with my only real issue so far being the mud traction.

Nice shoe. It feels like an improvement on the MT101 - it hugs my foot a bit tighter on steep downhills. Lightweight.
