I\'m on my second pair of 904 trail\'s and love them. They are light, which enables you to have a good feel for the trail, yet give enough stability and protection for the rockiest trails.

These shoes are super comfortable and look great. They are so light, too. I highly recommend these shoes.

I purchase the New Balance MR904 for my grandson in another state. He went to a store and fit on some of the same brand and check his shoes size there also. Then I ordered them here and had them sent to him. He is in track and really likes them.

The trail version of the 904 is an excellent all around shoe. It's as light as the road version, but with more tread, giving it better traction on and off road. The shoe runs much more narrow than its predecessor, the 903, making a half size increase necessary. So far I have consistently put around 275 miles on each pair of my 904's, which is considerably more than I could get from the 903. Good improvements have made a good shoe even better.

This shoe barely lasted a month at only 50 mile weeks. I loved this shoe for the first three weeks. Low profile, I wouldn't call this a stable shoe as another reviewer did, and light as a feather. I could really feel the ground (first time since the DS Trainer 11s) and this is what I am looking for in a shoe. I am 175 pounds (muscle mostly, no really, okay a little bit of chub) and have used other light weight trainers and had them last 12 weeks (all the DS Trainers have been able to do this) and longer. Maybe if you are lighter, you'll have better luck. I thought this shoe had ample room throughout. Compared to the DS 14 it certainly does. It felt like a mitten, where the 14s feel like a glove. If I could afford it, I would buy this shoe every three weeks.

Additional Brand Information

New Balance began as a Boston-based arch support company in the early 1900s, developed into a specialized manufacturer of shoes in the 1970s, and has grown to become a leading global athletic products company. Today New Balance is a family of brands including New Balance, Dunham, PF Flyers, Aravon, Warrior and Brine.

Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. Part of producing New Balance shoes and athletic clothing is manufacturing it to fit all widths and sizes, because a better fit produces better performance.

To ensure the best fitting, best performing shoes and clothes, New Balance focuses on improving their technology and production methods. A big part of that is maintaining five manufacturing facilities here in the United States where they continue to produce New Balance shoes and apparel that meet the standards they've employed for 100 years. They have also remained committed to a core set of values that include integrity, teamwork and total customer satisfaction.

Got a pair as a gift recently. I do the "Grouse Grind" twice a day in the Summer months. Apart from the hideous colors of these shoes, I am thoroughly impressed with the fit, comfort, support, and I especially appreciate the light weight of the shoes. The traction I get on the trail with them is excellent.

Stylish shoe--fairly light but stable, would not treadmill with it--however it is good for short workouts...

Been a fan of the 900 series till I tried the 904's. They were narrow on the forefoot and they had too much stability preventing them from being low to the ground. I had to go back to the 903. They are a lot more comfortable.
