I purchased these boots after using a pair of heavy, Italian-leather backpacking boots for the past 10 years. Since moving to the coast of Maine, I now have dedicated winter boots -- and didn't need the seasonal versatility of all leather uppers. These boots are fantastic. I was apprehensive at first, mostly because I didn't know how durable they would be -- but after the last 25 miles in them, they look practically unused. Although the soles are not my preferred Vibrams, they do seem to be durable, with treads that are multi-purpose (and have not held mud). No problems with water infiltration -- the Gore-Tex is doing its job. I would prefer for the uppers to be a little higher -- though that may be from my past experience with taller boots. The tongue is only partially gusseted, but that has not been a problem, yet. If it becomes a problem as spring moves to summer, I'll wear gaiters to keep the grit out of my socks. All in all, these are sporty, attractive boots, which are surprisingly durable and have the New Balance support we've all come to appreciate. Recommended.

The shoe is made for people with narrow feet. I liked the style of the shoe. It holds up well here in Afghanistan given all the terrains I come across daily. Easy to clean; I would get some stain and water repellent with your purchase to keep the shoe looking good. I also have the colorful style of this shoe. Good shoes and will purchase another pair. Break them in and they will be a great shoe.

Very comfortable shoes. Good support. I use them to work on the farm and they have good ankle support and traction. The soles have held up really well and they keep my feet dry.

These boots are great! Very water resistant and for some reason the water seal has kept them clean. Very comfortable.

Awesome boots. I put footwear to the test with my job (utility locator)and know good boots when I see them, and these are good boots. They are waterproof (actually waterproof unlike some other brands) but still breathable on hot days. And they are as comfortable as a sneaker. Highly recommended.Only downfall-the red makes them look a bit odd. And the other colors are just not for me.
I'd also recommend: Merrell, North Face
