Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. Part of producing New Balance shoes and athletic clothing is manufacturing it to fit all widths and sizes, because a better fit produces better performance.
To ensure the best fitting, best performing shoes and clothes, New Balance focuses on improving their technology and production methods. A big part of that is maintaining five manufacturing facilities here in the United States where they continue to produce New Balance shoes and apparel that meet the standards they've employed for 100 years. They have also remained committed to a core set of values that include integrity, teamwork and total customer satisfaction.

Liked the support, cushioning and feel for running; liked the look of the shoe and comfort. Unfortunately have returned two pair because they both squeaked. Not sure I want to try a third time.

Very comfortable and lightweight. I need extra-wide neutral-cushioning shoes (I supinate rather badly), so my choices are quite limited. These are the most comfortable running shoes I've tried in years. I wear them with an orthotic insert, which I put beneath the shoe's insole, and they still fit perfectly. (I can't really comment on this shoe's arch support because of the inserts I use.)

Good sneaker for price, but not very comfortable in footbed and slightly narrower than size overall.

I believe New Balance has made an inferior product here. I was looking for a shoe that was comfortable to walk/run in. I made this purchase in good part because it looked more stylish than other options in a size 4E (I have very wide feet). When they arrived they looked as neat as they did online but handling them they seemed chintzy. I could see dried glue all over the sole and while lightweight shoes are desirable for running, and these are light as a feather, their weightlessness made them seem cheap rather than streamlined. I'll probably buy New Balance again as they are one of the only companies that specializes in wide sized shoes for men but I'll be paying close attention to what is coming out of their factory. I hope they put some more thought and effort into their future products. To reiterate: style was on point (website image was true to color) but overall shoddy workmanship (I guess that's what you get for "proudly made in the U.S.A."?) and I agree with previous reviews that their 4E Extra Wide in this particular version was not as wide as I've experienced in other of their shoes.

Though these are advertised to be a 4E, they are the most narrow 4E's I have ever seen. They are not even close in width to the other NB 4E's I own.
